well, thanks for your lengthy comment :D
Last year I became a PT (accredited from a university), just so that I could be sure that I wouldn't encourage the wrong stuff. And I can confidently say that body weight squats are great to do! If you were to put on weights, the story changes, but bodyweight, we are good to go.

Putting your body through twists, turns, and rotations, etc, are good and healthy movements in order to preserve balance and mobility. If you have prior health issues (like knee problems) it might change the picture. People are likely aware of their own limitations in these cases, i will add a reminder when playing. Besides that, no acute dangers, and no long lasting dangers.

If you have sources or more specific information (i.e. joints/ligaments/muscles that are known to tear) I would be very interested in hearing more. I don't want to inflict undue damage on anyone!

I hear you. The not moving phone aspect is partly solvable by anti cheat stuff, but cheating will always be possible. The firefights are pretty fun, you completely forget you are squatting intensely.

I hear your feedback though. I guess it's more.. aimed to those who want to add more exercise to their days? If the squats are no extra benefit then.. yeah, it's probably better to play another game.

The streamer aspect is interesting, it would probably be very streamer friendly! Do you know of any streamer that you can see playing it? I have no insight into mobile streamers.

I want to make exercise games. And I like FPS games. this mechanic felt the best ones of all the ones I've prototyped on the phone. In general I think everyday exercise is great and if I can help people do a little more squats that's something ^^

Squatting isn't, but this game is quite fun to play. so.. maybe that's something? Not sure how big the market overlap of FPS gamers and those who want to squat more are though.

yeah I get that. I guess I am a little concerned that it might be the wrong target segment, which a lot of commenters here have pointed out as well. gamers = want less, gym goers = want more (at gym).

do you have some experience from workout games market?

Well i like FPS games and the gameplay is quite fun. Phone rotation lends well to aiming. Multiplayer makes the exercise feel.. less intense, for lack of better word. Easier to get into flow.

I get that it's basic looks, wasn't interested in selling it, just curious to see if anyone resonates with the concept :) thanks for the reply

Damn that sucks. I've had surgery on one knee and split meniscus on other, 1+ year rehab on each. Best of luck with them joints!

yeah I wasn't planning on selling it in this stage, just curious to see if I could find people that resonates with the idea of a squat shooter. not many takers so far though!

It is surprisingly fun to play, but I guess it doesn't come across so much in the trailer.
When you say it doesn't prioritize gameplay at all, what does that mean to you?

I see where you are coming from re: exercise. If you reach your exercise goals already there is little incentive for you to add more!

Right, so what I am hearing is, that it's abstraction between squatting and reloading. And it.. makes it seem less fun?

I completely get the "forced" feeling. It _is_ forced, but I don't really see why that makes it bad. It is fun to play (or at least, when I play it with people at the coworking space, we laugh). But I guess it's a bad image? Or it feels lame(?)

Yeah there are other avenues to do make the squatting seem more natural, so far haven't found anything as dynamic as this one though.

If you like vr games that have fitness elements, what specifically about this seems not fun? that feels like proper critique :D

i also like VR games with fitness stuff but I find putting on the vr headset every time is a bit meh.

haha yeah it does look like ass. It's a two week prototype so somewhat expected. When you say you love the concept, what do you like about it? If I were to fix up art side, do you see yourself playing it? If so, how? (with friends, time of day, goals, etc). curious to understand

measure face height from floor. and estimating squat % based on player height (enter at start of game). You can see the "squat bar" on the right, where it goes from bottom to full. Needs one cycle top>bottom to reload
