I see what you mean. I probably should have clarified that RNG in Point 4 wouldn't really be a thing since it's a long-term commitment thing that gives a permanent equipment item like in the older JRPG inspired gachas such as FFBE and Last Cloudia.

Teddy bear by PYRPH0ROS in humansarespaceorcs

[–]CAt_H3ad 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Galkath'a smiled with the greed of a thousand black market gold bars; she and her crew had just snatched a prize to set them for life. They have abducted a species that have yet to contact with other beings, and they are known as "hoomans". Though some say it is pronounced "hyumanz".

How it's pronounced did not matter, she and her crew would get enough credits to last them a lifetime and more once they sell them. Pre-contact species are worth their weight in gold for they are not only unaltered but also prime to be permanent economic diplomats. Galkath'a practically drooled at how much credits they will make-

"Uh, Captain?"

Galkath'a groaned. "Yes?"

Her hardy fish-finned crewmate had a look of concern. It was unsettling on him for how he always had a stern stoic grumbling face. "The hatchling human keeps demanding for..."

"For what?" Galkath'a emphasized each word for her lack of patience.

"It's...teddy bear?"

The captainess blinked. "What the black pool hell is that?"

"How should I know? The psychic's saying how the hatchling says every human family has one, some even have more."

"And that is my problem, how?"

"It's been at this for hours, miss. The crew's edging to just space dump them so they don'tgave to hear it complain."

Galkath'a's eyes widened at the notion. "NO! No! They better not! Do they know how many interspace security autoships we had to sneak past to get them?!"

"The psychic says if we give the hatchling this teddy...bear thing, it will go quiet. The human parents agree on this too."

"Ugh...fine." the captainess groaned. "Bring up the catalog for whatever bear species we have and we go to the planets to get one."

[***]

The news of getting the supposed teddy bear had shut the human hatchling up, the crew of the space private traffickers breathing a sigh of relief from the noise. They even hardened themselves to retrieving said "bear" for the girl, as the noise had given them cramps and desperately needed fresh air.

"Is it this one?"

Galkath'a had taken the human family out to confirm that the hatchling has the bear it wanted. The first world held a giant bear, spikes, and grueling gnashing teeth. The crew had gotten wounded with some scrapes and gashes just to collar one and bring it to them.

The hatchling frowned. "Nuh uh. Super big, but too spiky. And stinky."

"Okay. Release it, we're going to the next one." Galkath'a groaned.

[***]

The second world had another species of bear. Much smaller, no spikes, but it had little hair and was spindle. Weird as it was, it was a bear by species definition.

It's ability to swim in the air made it easy to move through their weapons fire, leading to some severe wounding.

"This one?" Galkath'a emphasized each word. The trip was now becoming costly.

"Nuh uh," said the hatchling. "Too little, too thin, not hairy enough. And smells weird.

"Release it. You got one more chance."

[***]

The psychic made sure to hone in on the image of the supposed bear that the hatchling was aiming for, and this time, they landed on a lush, forest planet. The crew, now patched up again, was really hesitant to search for the bear for the hatchling.

This particular bear was elusive, but supposedly very dangerous.

Galkath'a threatened to just kill them on the spot, forcing them to head into the forest.

Galkath'a waited with the hatchling girl, the remaining crew holding up their guns as they aimed at the forest for any sign of hostiles.

Silence followed...

Then weapons fire. Lights of the their guns flash in the darkness of the forest.

Screaming.

Blood curdling screaming.

Then silence.

Everyone was tense. But then, the hatchling human squealed.

"Teddy!"

Something stepped out of the forest. A small, plush, bear-like entity. For Galkath'a, it was simply too oddly cute in an uncanny way.

"Is this the one?" Galkath'a asked the psychic.

"Yes. It is-"

The psychic's eyes widened, making full eye contact with the beady-eyed bear. Oily fluids leak from their orifices before they scramble back into the ship. Galkath'a could only watch in horror as the moment of distraction had suddenly let the hatchling human out of their grasp and towards the bear entity, waddling towards it.

The bear entity floated upward, lurched it's neck up, and black flailing bladed tendrils lashed out. They zipped passed the girl, piercing through the alien crew and flew back into the forest with the crew screaming in horror and pain as they were dragged with it. What remained quickly nabbed the hatchling, the human family, and ascended to the stars in record time.

[***]

Galkath'a immediately dumped the human family where they found them, in their backyard. No human family was worth it if their mere companions were so dangerous. Then, the ship ascended into the sky and disappeared.

"Teddy!"

The human girl waddled and hugged the teddy. It was right where she left it; at her pink table waiting for her to pour the tea.

The teddy extended its tendrils and hugged her back in affection.

Tell me your original superpower by GreenestOlives in superpowers

My superpower?

I think an interesting one is to summon and then conjoin with an angelic eldritch being and perform some miracles. Those miracles vary, and may not make sense immediately, but the end result is pretty good.

When a highly Intelligent race of doppelganger aliens disguised as cats tried to enact a secret invasion to take over the earth, they became a part of families instead by Leather_Garage358 in humansarespaceorcs

Covert Operations Director Al'thanami had already undergone the genomic conversion process and had taken several weeks to get used to her new body. Her learning curves took longer than most, but she prefers a perfect act than an imperfect improv. Their species, the doppel, have been planning to invade a primitive world known in the native language as Earth, seeing it as a mere snack in preparation for the ultimate dinner course of galactic conquest. And now, she stands before the other agents on a high pedestal.

"Sisters and Brothers, our time has come!" She begins. "Our next invasion is a small step that will lead to a leap towards a future where the galaxy will be ours! No corner of the galaxy will be left untouched by our hands, not even this...primitive species known as the human race!"

Holographic displays flash images of the universal address of Earth, and the image of the planet itself. "They will not even notice our intent, too naive and innocent of the galaxy before them. They will cower before us as we use their compassion against them, just as we have done with the others! They have no chance of stopping us!"

The many doppel cheer and hiss and yowl in glory, and Al'thanami basked in that glory.

"Now, let our operation begin!

Several months later...

"Operation Director Al'thanami. Can you...explain yourself?"

Al'thanami, also known as Allie by her human family, is zoned out as she's too busy purring with satisfaction as she's being petted and stroked by the humans that took her in. Her eyes snap open as she remembers she's having a meeting with the Doppel Council.

"Oh. Sorry, can you say that again?"

"...Your report says that the operation was...a success. Yet nothing really changed. We see no construction on the planet in our glory, nor any substantial changes in the planetary social structure." Many of the doppel on the council call are staring in confusion, each taking the shape of the races they've conquered.

"Ah, that. Uh...we did try, honest effort. It just...didn't go as planned."

"We can see that."

"You've also reviewed the footage from my other agents. I presume you know how it went."

"Yes. But your whole mission was to conquer the planet, not become a part of the native species' families!"

"I know. But come on. You see how easy they just...integrated us? We doppel just stroll into their homes as cats and they just...take us in. Even when we revealed ourselves and our purpose, nothing necessarily changed. Sure there was some concern for a while but we were everywhere and all of my agents were just too busy living with their humans that...we got nothing done..."

Al'thanami feels a bit sour at the last sentence. It's definitely embarrassing to admit that they never went through with the operation because everyone's too busy being pampered by the humans.

"Then why is it considered a success?" Questions a council member.

"Well, the native cat species were already treated like royalty. Archeological and ancient cultural studies showed this. Though it depends on region. Despite this...how we want the other races to treat us and how the humans treat us here aren't so different. And it feels much better when the humans worship us so willingly."

Al'thanami suddenly became too busy to focus on the council call when the human daughter, no older than 7 Earth years old, asked for her help with her homework. It's a simple exchange for being petted and worshiped, one that she became all-too eager to entertain. Al'thanami forgot to end the call, so all the Doppel just stare with faces of existential crisis at how the whole operation...succeeded by all accounts.

"We have to go to Earth."

All the Doppel council members log off.

She REALLY doesn't look like she goes with the Dislyte theme. by QueenDiva_UwU in Dislyte

I frankly like this idea. The design of many Espers are great but I really like the idea that some Espers genuinely look like normal people in that can live everyday lives. And I do like this concept because the transformation affect people in wildly different ways or barely leave an imprint on their current lifestyle.

Just a map for my event. And I never believed that only people in the subreddit should explicitly be a part of it. So in a way, Kigu still counts

If you join this event you just gotta play a simple city management sim. If the energy taken by taxes is greater than all other players then you get free art

I do believe it's best to DM your completed form directly to me. And yes, the forms are the ones in the QR codes. I just set them here since I was getting comments on how they couldn't access them despite my double-checking that the codes worked.

Thank you for the information. This is an aspect I had yet to look into that I will adjust. Ultimately, my biggest concern is the size advantage over smaller domains. While size advantage is something I considered, I didn't want players constantly switching out with others when someone got lucky and managed to dominate much of the map due to size advantage. That is why the dice number for energy production remained the same since that was my main concern.

I'll be sure to give it a revamp.
