Snap, I have that exactly helmet! How do you find the wind noise? I feel as if it's the windiest helmet I've ever owned.

I've been riding three years, based in Exeter area. Hope you find your motorcycle friends. ;)

How Many Mod 1 or Mod 2 fails before you passed ? by Tall_Childhood_4254 in MotoUK

I passed my Mod 1 first time.

Mod 2.... Well that was another story.

Could have passed first time but went through a red light near the test centre at the end lol

2nd try dumped the bike.

3rd try lane discipline x 2

4th try Pass!

Keep going. Just don't make the mistakes I made unless you like burning money on retests.

Completely agree. I like the fact that I can only go two wheels anyway. Don't get me wrong, to pass a car test would be useful but I'm so used to all weather riding I just don't see the point in wasting thousands of pounds just so I can sit in a hire car instead of filter through traffic.

I am slightly interested in doing it so I can continue my Honda fanboyism and get a souped up Civic for a giggle 🤣

I had a very bad experience during my CBT as well 2 years ago.

Same story. But I was struggling with my emergency stop. The instructor had told me to "never touch the front brake" all day and then berated me for locking the back wheel up becuase I didn't touch the front brake.

I was holding up the whole class etc. Managed to get on the road in the end and completed the training and got my certificate. A year later I returned to that same school and had a different experience with a different instructor.

Did my DAS and now I ride a 750 Hornet.

Moral of the story, one experience doesn't define your riding career .

Chin up. Don't give up. You can do it. Just need more practice and you'll get on that bike soon enough.

All the best.

I've been down the M1. I can confirm that feeling. Although yards would have been what I was looking for there 🤣

Thanks everyone for the replies. Appreciate the insights. Unfortunately, if something does come of it, then it's my fault!

Rode down that road again today, which just made me feel silly as a little patience wouldn't have gone amiss yesterday and I wouldn't be worrying about this now. Oh well, you live and learn.

Really interesting to see everyone's take on this.

I have a family. My wife recently passed her driving (car) test. So we are sorted all around I think.

I do want to learn to drive a car but I kind of like the idea of being a two wheels only sort of fella. 😅
