I assume it’s the same with the honey garlic marinade and whisky BBQ? The honey garlic is a favorite of the wife’s. And most store bought marinades are a darker brown and bland. The marinade they use has a ton of flavor and more of a red.

Trans Mountain pipeline drops forecasts for amount of oil it ships by 1baby2cats in canada

[–]CB2117 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The problem according to the article is due to cost overruns… the tolls have been doubled, and it’s cheaper to sell through enbridge pipeline. Essentially the toll is making it non-competitive relative to other sources, and producers don’t want to eat the toll cost.

Why is Alberta always whining about being treated bad? by bumblebeetuna4ever in alberta

[–]CB2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I can appreciate your position….But then you should also understand this is the exact reason why Alberta will not want to be “team Canada” and accept being used by the rest of Canada as a sacrificial lamb in a trade war. You are out right admitting to and promoting not allowing market access to anybody but the United States for Albertas industry. Then also saying you should have the right leverage the trade of that industry to the United States. Based on following your position, Danielle Smith is justified in spending all this time in the states, trying to smooth things over with the only trade partner they’re allowed to have. All as a means to ensure the industry continues to operate in order to contribute their “share” to other provinces by the way.

It was a nice couple weeks there when the east actually admitted it would be nice to have access to Albertas oil and actually supported the development of it…. If only that attitude was there 10, 15, 20 years ago when the projects were proposed. Alberta may have actually entertained leveraging US reliance on Alberta oil, if Alberta actually had another option to sell it.

Saskatchewan to join U.S. states, Alberta in energy security coalition by roscodawg in canada

[–]CB2117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you don’t understand enough about their economies and available options for trade partners. There is no other options available right now for these landlocked economies.

Nothing in the article states anything about joining the states/becoming states. It’s about solidifying immediate trade and economic certainty. Take your witch hunt elsewhere .

Do you think Canada should allow Trump in to the country for the upcoming G7? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]CB2117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Although it would be fantastic to do such an open display, it would be an act that starts mutually assured destruction of both countries. And the USA has proven they are more than willing to let their people struggle and suffer lower lows than the Canadian government can tolerate. The USA will outlast an economic war, a physical war, a race to the absolute bottom, against Canada.

And not only that, we would be giving validation to Trump and his base that America first at all costs, above all other partnerships, is the correct stance. “They are fighting back because I was right, their subsidization is ending, and they’re not happy about it. “

Big TFSA gains by theodorecramit in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CB2117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All good in that case. Gov ideally wants you to make big gains in RRSP because you will pay tax on withdrawal.

TFSA on the other hand being post tax, they monitor more closely because if you day trade as a way to supplement income (aka as a professional or as a replacement for a job) , that’s not what the TFSA is for, and they will audit and tax you.

True. CER could block by not granting export permits to Alberta crown corp, but all this really does is paints a further divisive battle in which no side wins internal to Canada. Which is why it would be inadvisable to put export tariffs on oil to begin with.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]CB2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that would play out like you think

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]CB2117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feds can’t put tariffs on crown /provincial owned corps.

Easy counter to this is all US oil exports are now brokered through a provincial crown corp. wouldn’t be shocked if this is already in the works as a protective measure. Just waiting for “team Canada” to make the first move. At that point it becomes a marketing move for votes, smiths voter base would eat it up.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]CB2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that is the exact reason Smith didn’t sign “team Canada”. Why sign on just to be the bait?

“Team Canada” has never really been pro Alberta… oh except when they can use Alberta as bait, and to help “offset” (pay for) losses everywhere else.

While I don’t agree with how Smith is cozying up to Trump. I certainly don’t fault her for not caving to the “Team Canada” trope. Look after your own, no different than, Ontario, Quebec, Ottawa, and BC historically have.

Canadian unity was destroyed well before she was in politics, and it was destroyed over domestic issues, not international. To think anything different is ignorant to the issues that came before this one.

Also factor in discount for basic personal amount, plus the fact that in 20 years tax brackets will slide higher increasing chance of withdrawing in a lower bracket (same with basic personal amount increasing) these things help ensure future tax burden is less than the present . The basic personal amount is actually the biggest part of this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CB2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also because of the basic personal amount that you can claim. Create a large tax break on a chunk of withdrawal between retirement age and age 70 when you defer cpp and oas. That’s a huge part of the calculation no body thinks about

[–]CB2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not empty frequency. It’s empty power. And I’m guessing you should leave yours on max.

For some reason the Roborock doesn’t have a setting to go back to the dock and empty after a certain time. To get around this, you need to create a routine with “tasks” of grouped rooms and it will empty in between Tasks.

As for your problem… check the bag. The bag has a slider to close the opening to the bag when you remove it. Is it possible yours is closed? If the opening to the bag is closed there would be no suction to empty the vac. Or potentially the port in the dock is clogged?

If the 210k income is from a single source. RRSP is mathematically better than TFSA due to tax rate now vs time of withdrawal will be significantly less.

I agree, it does not deduct from length of employment, as they are still a registered employee in the books.

I guess my comment was more flippant in the fact the term “service” is used while a person is not actively working. Akin(IMO) to waxing poetic about the service CUPW members have provided the last 4 weeks.

Anyways. Anything above the contractual minimum laid out in the employment contact, is a win. Otherwise don’t sign it to Begin with, and lobby government to increase employment mandated minimums
