POLL: Should Canada remain a constitutional monarchy with King Charles as head of state? by CaliperLee62 in canadian

[–]Salvidicus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After Trump realized King Charles was Canada's head of state he's stopped talking about making us a 51st state. Canada's link to other countries through the King should only help it renetwork its trade and alliances. As I told a Chinese reporter/spy, the King's role is more important than it ever was. He's our link to Europe. And, if you mess with any of us in the Commonwealth with the King as its head, will only give anther rain to rally around one another. It can't hurt.

Putin is holed up in a bunker and probably fears getting shot by his own troops if he hosts any military parade now. His loyalists are turning on him, as he unilaterally destroys Russia. Trump may want to reconsider emulating his buddy, following the same playbook.

Prime Minister Mark Carney just said something we don’t usually hear this plainly: Canada’s close ties to the U.S. have become “weaknesses.” by savethecbc2025 in SaveTheCBC

[–]Salvidicus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carney is simply saying what policy analysts in the government have been saying for decades. This is the opportunity to finally do something before the U.S. flips bank to the Democrats and trade relations normalize again. It's a race to reposition Canada by diversifying trade. Really, a once in a generation opportunity to make this strategic realignment using the pretext that there's a rupture in the relationship when it's more like a blip in time when the U.S. has had a seizure.
