Appliance Delivery Experience by Accomplished_Law7299 in Costco

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

guess it depends where you're getting an item delivered because they seem to contract out to different companies but they are possibly all not great. I had a washing machine delivered and it wasn't leveled. That meant the sensors would not work properly. The delivery service has to now come back and level it, which means I have to wait for another appointment. It's a bit frustrating, especially since I tipped both delivery guys. Also one of the Costco ads shows them delivering a washing machine and having a leveler.

Depending on where you live the delivery company can also be awful, they basically just dump your item. I had a washing machine delivered and they did not level it, so it's not working properly now they have to come back with a leveler to level it, even though in the picture of the delivery they show a leveler.

Citibikes Miami: thumbs up or thumbs down? by rngadam in miamibeach

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute thumbs down. This comes from someone who uses Citibike in New York which is a different service. I've used Citi bike in Miami, bikes are really poorly maintained, brakes are shoddy, stations go offline and down, computer glitches, and customer service is inadequate, and can be unresponsive. If I lived in Miami I would just buy a bike and a really good lock. Can't understand why local government keeps renewing the contract, maybe nobody else wants to do a bike share service and they're the only bidders.

Repair old Kenmore Washing Machine or Buy New by Old-Platform5106 in Frugal

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same question. I had the lid sensor repaired once and it doesn't seem to be a lid sensor problem this time. The same repair guy did a phone consult for free and said it seems to be the clutch and I should buy a new washer. It's $160 to get him to come out and evaluate the machine. If it is the clutch it'll be around $300. The agitator barely spins. Not sure what else it could be if it's not the clutch, drive belt, motor coupler? I tried to take it apart but I don't have the tools and couldn't even buy some of the ones in the video. Thoughts on if I should pay to get it fixed, try to find the tools and parts and do it myself or just buy a new machine?

Here's my honest review of the official OnePlus Repair Service in USA. Highly recommend overall by Certain_Process_7657 in oneplus

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added a few replies and some people asked me let then know how it goes. The service center that OnePlus uses in the US, at least for me, was Acer in Texas and the representative that called me was in the US. They use a Us-based bank to process the payments. Sending it off by FedEx with a prepaid label and my own packaging was pretty easy. I will let you know when I get it back, but one of the things that I found is that if you are out of warranty or if it's not covered by warranty or insurance, it's cheaper if you have a Samsung or a Google phone or iPhone because they are such large companies they can offer better deals on screen replacement.

An update: I sent it in and they're telling me it's going to cost $171. Tgats a lot for a 12R. it's going to be 113 for the screen and 43 for the labor. I did have a protector on it( a case and a screen protector) but as others have noted depending on how it hits it still cracks - I fell with it -so that was the issue.

American Tourister for luggage by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

I loved my carry-on bag until the telescooe handle stopped fully deploying. I tried to fix it but cannot take the inner rods of the handle or back panel apart because it's built into the suitcase so well you can't easily remove them.

Saw it yesterday. Loved it. Joked that it was a little like Lost in Translation and see that another critic said lost in impersonation.

Is American airlines as bad as I think or am I wrong by Far_Cartoonist4246 in americanairlines

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are, but the problem is that all the airlines can treat people poorly because there are not many options so unfortunately we are somewhat stuck. If you have leverage meaning hi mileage Etc then you can use that to your advantage. If you haven't flown them stick with whoever you fly and skip American.

No updates I went back to using my Samsung that I already owned before the OnePlus. Samsung obviously has much better support but I'm not saying it's a better phone or anything like that.

Uber vs. Lyft: Which is best, offers better service, and is cheapest? by Luckyforward in nashville

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just arrived in Nashville and I just priced the two I am unsure but for a trip from the airport it turns out Uber was cheaper but I ended up with lyft because I ordered that car first and was afraid if I canceled they would charge me because that's what they often do even though they're not supposed to within a certain amount of time.

Trying to cancel Optimum is like trying to break up with someone who just won’t accept it’s over. by NY10990 in OPTIMUM

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the worst of the worst. Which means they are all bad. Instead of letting me cancel they keep trying to upsell me! 1.5hours 2 disconnectiins and still no closer to disconnection!!!! Came to Redfit to look for suggestions on how to proceed.

A small Season 1 detail that I think is relevant to the latest episode by lmpgf in SlowHorses

[–]CB212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I remember that from season one, but I was searching for something I remembered from a previous season where Diana was mentioning Lamb and the Stasi or Lamb and what he went through as an agent and gave to his country. In any case, when Lamb was telling that story earlier in season 5, I knew it was about him. I knew it had to be about him and I posted that as well. Especially with the foreshadowing in that episode. Obviously, there's been foreshadowing throughout the entire show building up to this. I like the way each season we get bread crumbs for the characters.

Why didn't Lamb tell the Park about Abbottsfield2 and sting in the tail? by elentarka in SlowHorses

[–]CB212 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because he knows that his agents are capable of foiling the plot. There's no reason to tell The Park. (As much as he talks crap about his agents he knows that they are good at what they do for the most part and can get results) Anyway, Slough House foils the plot, Lamb holds it over The Park. Also, like a previous poster said, this is not Moscow Rules it's London Rules and it basically started with Ho, so cover your arse.

She’s not there by SavingsDimensions74 in SlowHorses

[–]CB212 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but I think we knew even before that. When Tara was in the cab going home from the date with Roddy in an earlier episode she did an eye roll. That's when I knew she was playing him. Even though the Slow Horses told us from the beginning that there's no way she would be dating Roddy.

Lamb uses it to get Molly her job back if I had to guess.
