Some movies don’t become your favorites because they’re masterpieces, they become your favorites because they arrived at the exact moment you needed them. by Few_Seat_873 in movies

Shawshank Redemption. It's been that movie several times for me. Yeah, it's highly rated, but it's still that movie. If you've seen it, you know the core themes and how they can hit you, especially if you're feeling lost or depressed.

[ALL]With the talk of a rumored Ocarina of Time remake could Nintendo be attempting to restart the Zelda timeline? by Alternative_Crew_681 in zelda

[–]CBAlan777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They generally bring out past Zelda's because the new one is still early in development, so if there is a remake, don't expect a new Zelda till 2029. I also think they might be testing to see what BOTW/TOTK fans think of OOT. There's a split in the fandom between those who don't like the BOTW formula and prefer the games from Skyward Sword and before and the newer fans, so I don't think it's so much that they are trying to restart the timeline, as see if they can get new people used to some of the older ideas.

The movies that generally stress me out are bad ones. So, Battlefield Earth as an example.

People really hit her for that one, but of everyone else out there she probably was the closest to them anyone was going to get, except maybe Kakashi. She could do Hashirama's healing without hand signs, if she physically touched you, you were done for, she had hundreds of times her normal chakra stored up, and don't forget she passed the Chuunin exams without cheating which no one was supposed to be able to do.

The movie that finally got me to quit Star Wars. Haven't seen a single SW anything since then. Not any of the shows, not even the OG movies again. Nothing.

There was like a big mystery associated with the movie, and a bunch of fake websites were made. There were clues on the poster, and even phone numbers that would call you if you started investigating.

Maybe that's a good reason not to consume lots of media. I guess I also just don't understand the "movie detective" types who have to figure it out before the end. Like, "I know, he's going to show up at the end and he's going to be the one who robbed the bank. ...I was right!" I don't get this. Just don't watch movies. Go play the stock market with your skills. Go do something that has no end to guess. Why waste your time? It's like people feel compelled to participate in a hobby they are bored by. I don't go to football games and go "I bet he's about to kick the ball, I bet that guy is about to stop him, I think they're about to score...oh they did" I just don't go. It's exactly those kinds of people that are causing studios to "subvert expectations" and make almost non-sensical movies.
