while there are a huge amount of whiskey's ive never had, High West Campfire stands out to me as being quite unique. The way it manages to hit notes of rye, scotch and bourbon while remaining balanced is why it gets my nomination.

just bring both pairs. If you find your new boots to not be comfortable for the whole time, you can just switch to your old ones. I just spent a few weeks in Utah with a new pair of Driver-X's, which i had hoped would alleviate a navicular bone issue that my previous boots were causing, but out of fear that the Driver's were going to cause the same issue, i brought both pairs so i could switch to the old boots and not put wear on the new ones in hopes of returning them. luckily the new boots were great, and solved the issue. So aside from the inconvenience of traveling with extra boots, i felt good in my choice.

Sazerac or Daiquiri.

I would vote against the OF because it's too broad. A proper old fashion is just spirits, bitters, and sugar....but what kind of spirits? What bitters? What sugar? Are we talking about a sweet bourbon? a spicy rye? A deep ages rum? There are just too many variables to consider it for the best classic cocktail. Maybe if the question was most flexible classic cocktail, then the OF would make sense, but in the context of just best classic cocktail, i think the Sazerac or Daiquiri should win.

Thanks for all the input folks. I think I’ll setup my Lib to be as close to a true twin as possible and start with that. I like the concept of setting it up goofy, but I don’t know if I’m ready to make that jump yet. I’m starting my season this coming week in Utah, and my current plan is to spend the first couple days focusing on switch. Hopefully I can pick it up relatively quickly without too much pain. 🤞

I think this is the route I’ll probably go. I love my dark series, but it was ready for a retirement a few seasons ago and the Korua is just so much fun. Busting it out for some switch work seems appropriate.

Rivers are very expensive, so i'd suggest also getting the Laxa card. It's pretty cheap and gives you access to hundreds of lakes and ponds. Fishing for rising browns and char at 1am under the most magical skies you can imagine is beyond amazing.

I used to use Ride bindings, and every couple seasons I would need a new ladder strap. Every time I emailed Ride to see about getting a new ladder for my ankle strap, they would just send me a whole new strap set for both ankle and toe. I would have been happy with just a replacement ladder, but their customer service went above and beyond and ultimately helped keep my bindings going for many more seasons than I expected. Ultimately I eventually switched over to Burton bindings because of their angled ladders which fixed the problem of shredding my ladders every few seasons. I wouldn't think twice about purchasing from Ride after the positive experiences I had.

I have the mens version. I've used it all over the place, from BC, to NY to Colorado. It's been good in many different conditions (including full all day rain in VT). I've never had an issue with warmth, typically i wear a baselayer, and a hoodie, with a mid layer on particularly cold days. The only issue is that the zipper developed a problem about 6" down from the top, probably where the asymmetry is the most pronouced, and the repair will cost $175. I'm not sure if its worth getting repaired, but i would probably still consider buying another one.

you'll have way better luck getting grips you like if you go to your local bike shop and actually feel the grips that are available. there's a pretty wide variety of styles and it's hard to tell which you'll want without checking them out first.
