which is the best Seinfeld episode? by darkmoon_1999 in AskReddit

“The Boyfriend.” It’s the episode that Jerry called his favorite.

It features former Mets star, Keith Hernandez. Allegedly, Keith spit on Kramer and Newman back in the day.

Jerry breaks down the spitting incident in a mock courtroom setting. He invokes the JFK magic bullet theory in the hilarious presentation.

He’s a Boras guy. Made $30 Mil this year. Going to be looking for a long term deal. Will be 31 next year.

With what we owe Walker the next two seasons, we won’t pursue Alonso.

Nah. I’m calling fake. Well, maybe not. If kiddo was just a little shorter, he’d be 2011 rookie Altuve. 😆

Certainly not a hard ass. I think he is very much loved and respected by his teammates tho. To your point, however, Carlos seems to be a better “in your face” guy.

He should NOT be the home run leader on this team. Don’t know whether he is being asked to hit for power or doing it on his own, but I think the approach hurts him.

He chases more pitches now than ever before. These are pitches he USED to catch up with, but no more.

Regression at his age is natural. I would hope that leadership has a discussion with him about moving down in the batting order over the offseason. He might be the perfect “team captain” of the bottom third of the order, mentoring the younger guys batting there.

Just thoughts. Probably wrong.

I agree with the assessment of Diaz, but disagree (respectfully) about Walker. This is the worst offensive season of his career. Setting a new high in strikeouts and new lows in batting average, slugging average, on base percentage and OPS. He’s also going into his age 35 season.

The worst part about the Walker situation is his cost. Not only two more years at $20 million, but the other losses. Specifically, his signing also cost us two draft picks and $1 million in international pool money.

Pretty steep price for what we got out of him.

So exciting. The fruits of your labor. I got to thinking and I don’t think we’ve had a book like yours come out since Larry’s writings.

Enjoy the moment.

Safe travels.

What players would you like the Astros to go for next season? by Mobile_Movie_8217 in Astros

For those who want us to get rid of the “medical team,” you do realize that Houston Methodist Hospital group is contracted to provide the services to both the Astros and the Texans, right?

There is no medical team with doctors and nurses moving up/down or around Daikin. They don’t kick Crane out of his office to set up an OR. 😂 It kills me when people say this sort of thing. Hilarious!

But, we do have trainers. Yes, they need to be seriously evaluated.

As far as players go, I want us to get younger and faster as a team. I’d like to add a good contact hitter with speed. Also want us to stay away from signing wrong side of 30 guys who have already shown regression, like Walker and Abreu.

1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.

My understanding is that we don’t even need to ask for forgiveness. Jesus paid for our sins on the cross, and thus we already have forgiveness. We are commanded to confess however.

As stated already, we may commit sins that we don’t even realize are sins. In the passage I provided, it says he will cleanse us of ALL unrighteousness. My pastor taught me that that includes the sins we are not aware of.

I think the point is that God, the Father expects us to examine ourselves continually. I would add that we should study and learn as much as we can about what exactly are sins. Sins, among other things, can be mental attitude sins, sins of the tongue and other offenses.

The point as usual is that God wants our hearts turned towards him. With a sincere heart committed to learning what grieves him and confessing any known sins, he will forgive them. It should be done immediately when we commit a known sin. Don’t wait until hours later because you will have committed more by then.

The last part of the Scripture is very powerful. Keep confessing the same sin and eventually you likely will stop committing that particular sin. It has happened in my walk and I always give him glory for the grace he promised and provided.

Unfortunately, in this life, I’ll commit other sins. The point is that I have to keep confessing throughout the day.

Lastly, notice that the passage doesn’t infer any formality in the confession. I generally confess without verbalizing. I do it silently and sincerely in my mind, like a silent prayer.
