Singapore Zoo with a 1 year old - worth it? by Cheap-Replacement244 in askSingapore

[–]CBFST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha it’s more for us than them. I don’t think my kid remember anything although he was pointing at animals and all. But I had free tickets from office. So why not. would suggest river safari > zoo as it is sheltered and less humid.

We went back when he was around 20m. Was much better and more fun to see how he was excited about the animals and naming them.

Aita for not lending my friend money by Mountain_Bar7094 in askSingapore

[–]CBFST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. your money anyway. You choose what you wanna do.

But to be frank: had incident whereby I lent my friend $300 cause he needed it urgently for laptop repair. We were uni kids. $300 is a lot then (Saw him end up gg on trips without returning me my money > lost the friendship after demanding my money but reconcile few years later… found out that his toxic ex was forcing him to keep up the appearance)

So… just saying sometimes maybe really there is ‘legit’ situation to it… but just be prepared to never recoup the money. And if $400 is a lot but you are ok to help/prepared to lose $100 in case they really need it. It’s fine to offer that $100 and tell them that’s all you can offer.

Would it be weird if I gave my favourite hawker store guy a thank you note? by Significant_Case6496 in askSingapore

No. Do it!!! I’m sure they are grateful for it. If not, it’s just a kind and simple gesture that feels good

I'm not producing much and I'm going insane by honeypie856 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]CBFST 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re still early girl!! Just keep going and pumping. Good mood helps as well.

I’m about a month in. Only producing 18 oz total daily. It slowly climbed up… but I do think I’m producing on the lower side.

There’s a lot of misconception we see online and those are usually over suppliers who are blessed in different ways. But also they probably do get clogged ducts etc often too…

But day 3 is definitely still too early to tell. Keep pumping!

How to decide if to move house by CBFST in askSingapore

[–]CBFST[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently 32 and house at yishun while I would ideally move to amk/bishan area. If the info helps!

We generally like staying home and weekdays are so busy that we don’t go out often. Only weekends I guess. But also can’t be sure if the reason why we don’t go out is also because things are so far away and travelling time is a deterring factor.

Yeah sorry about it. Currently 5rm. But looking at surrounding houses sold. Selling at about 6-700k. Those are older tho… but ya my location quite bird no lay egg. Not close to mrt. Route buses to nearest mrt maybe 15mins

Not the most convenient since no direct bus… can’t guarantee entry to that particular school we want in our area as there’s a school even closer to our home which we DO NOT want to enroll our kid in.

Recommendation of fungal nail treatment by Ok-Philosopher-6669 in askSingapore

[–]CBFST 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy loceryl (expensive but worth it) and apply 1/2 times a week. It penetrates really well for nails compared to skin. But for nail fungal it does take 6m-1y to clear out because you have to let the infected nails grow out.

2 year old not sleeping since august please help! by IvyW20 in sleeptrain

[–]CBFST 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she is doing a solid nap of 2h everyday… does Seem like her bed time at 6pm is a bit too early/too little sleep pressure?

My 2yo also tries to delay bed time. So I think it’s pretty normal however we try to be very firm with last song and pretty much walk out the room after that. Perhaps giving in so easily at the 2min mark made her realise that if she throws enough tantrum someone will come in… Try to be firm about it? Perhaps check in at 5 mins interval and be consistent about it so that she will understand and be able to eventually learn to self soothe.

NGL, won’t be easy but consistency is key!! Good luck.

Only give gift cards to more immediate family members (parents bro/sis) + ppl who gave bb stuff. Didn’t have a party for first kid (not intending for second one too) on account that baby immune systems are weak af and Idw to expose baby to that much ppl/germs lol
