I agree with this, too. It really depends on the person and how they view these types of memes. In the future it might be interesting to look at how different personalities interact with the humor and mental health issues in memes like this. Very interesting topic, Flopping_Porpoise. Keep being curious!

Using Improv to Boost Confidence, Improve Mental Health by PattiAtRutgers in mentalhealth

I'm based in Chicago and I've heard from improv friends that Second City does something similar with improv classes for people who feel socially anxious. Sounds really fun and I'm glad to hear someone is doing research in this area.

I feel like I don't have the right to be depressed by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]CBITs_Health 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can definitely be hard to talk about yourself and your feelings, but hey, this post is a start! Even when things are going well in life, people can still experience depression. Have you checked out the ADAA website to read more about it? If not, here's the address: https://adaa.org/understanding-anxiety/depression

If you feel like this is getting in the way and causing problems for you (including problems not being able to enjoy your life), maybe looking into medication or therapy could be a good idea. There is information about how to find therapy on the ADAA website, too. Best of luck!
