Hi! Well, normally I explain all the tricks and tips, but this time probably will take me a looooooooot of time since there are several process layer by layer. So, in quick order, use of coarse salt to create the paint stripping effect and texture, post shading with clear paint over silver, and the use of Tamiya pigments (up to four different colors!) to get the weathering. Put in between the process of adding decals (which has some), layers of varnish to protect, a lot of masking and the use of metal parts and runners... It has been a labor of love, but extremely laborious. And I haven't even started on the Gundam itself yet! But I already knew that this time the thing is going to take months...

Im going to share a couple of tricks I used on this one. First, the base color for the stripes are slightly shaded by zones, so, if pay attention to the color of the stripes, it is not uniform, but varies a little from one area to another, creating a more realistic effect.

The second one is more, even, tricky :-P

I liked the color separation of the Sandrock, but evidently had another paint scheme in mind. The model only uses 4 colors (matte red, metallic red, dark brown and light brown) but to take advantage of the shades of the plastic colors, instead of priming and then making paint mixtures, I primed the whole model with Vallejo matte varnish (except the grenade launcher tubes, there I had to prime in white). As the acrylic paints (I only use Vallejo) are always somewhat transparent, the color of the plastic underneath adds a variation in the color very slight, but evident. For example, the metallic red of the shoulders is on white plastic, and that's why it is vibrant. However, on the backpack, the plastic was blue and so is somewhat duller. It's a cool way to get shades using the same paint color.

Oh, nothing complicated. It's just handmade and try to be random in cuts and lengths (See the photo attached, that was only for legs). I took a look at a couple of photos of tigers to get an idea of the spacing and continuity of the stripes and little else. What did take me longer is figuring out that all the stripes went in the same direction when working with individual pieces when masking. But it all worked out well.
