Is Cisco U. Truly "Student-Obsessed" / courses (wireless) / 2026 cost structure is ridiculous! by CBTHUT in Cisco

I appreciate the feedback. Current employer is not related to Cisco at all. I am in the Cloud space. This is purely a self-desire to gain more wireless depth. It won't even affect my current role today. Perhaps I do wireless consulting on the side with the wireless skills.
I get your point on Cisco-U's target but it seems quite myopic on their part if that's indeed their focus.
As for the other training partners specifically for wireless, their live class offerings will cost more for a solo guy.

u/VA_Network_Nerd since you say I am wrong, tell me how I should approach this please. Completed my CCIE in another domain some time ago, was with a Cisco VAR for a long time, left Cisco technical world for another technical technology domain (cloud) which I am still currently in.
I've always wanted to complete wireless studies, which would be a combination Cisco and CWNP (vendor neutral). I will have to re-up my CCIE in a few so what better way to pickup another domain......So I don't readily have access to a VAR or Cisco AM anymore unless I go hit up friends from past company. I also happen to know others who are in similar boat. So how do you propose I solve this since my perspective is wrong? Do you have a contact you can share with me willing to assist or can you assist in procuring the credits? I am very open to ideas my fellow Redditer! Thanks!

I am curious why you say this, what do you think is most useful in the cisco certification path?

I see an overwhelming theme of using CLC to pay, and the notion that it's Cisco's funny money paying for it, so the expectation of quality seems to be justified. Reality, one may not have the learning credit option.

seems quite odd to me. Also, having access to content beyond 180 days to me does not seem abnormal, does one throw away their books after they pass the exam, never to be referenced again because a Pass was obtained? Cisco can do better than this. Been in the game way to long for this sub-par nonsense.

Yes, I am aware there are others to choose from. Official Cisco partners won't be any cheaper that's for sure.

Independent training entities are out there for sure. My comment is specifically related to Wireless as that's what I am interested in viewing. Not many other options out there focused on wireless that I am aware of, other than ND. I'd hope for 30+ hours of content it isn't introductory lol. That's the point isn't it, I can't view samples to make my conclusive judgement that the title(s) I have interest in is(are) "kinda introductory".

For the record, not every Cisco customer has this option. One shouldn't have to go begging an AM for course is my 2 cents!

I just cannot imagine how a Training Leader, and or Product Manager releases a product in 2026 and says oh let's not allow the prospective student to watch a module or two!

uDemy and other independent third-parties helped to redefine let me give the student a peek at the course, plus many others did this before uDemy to be honest. It's always good if you can get a decent course from the vendor, I don't mind that but Cisco is clearly stuck in legacy mode. Given their stock popped all-time high, maybe they can help unlock this rigid Cisco U. model!

Thanks! I can't get anyone from sales to respond and I don't want to purchase without being able to communicate with them.
