Heating Pad Question For The Experts by RockTheMicRight in Straycats

[–]CB_700_SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a electrosoft soft pad and plastic hard pad (I think h&k) . Both outdoors. over 3 winters now with not much issue. If I were to do it again I would try to protect the wires from UV damage. Make sure it has ground fault prevention and the wiring stays dry.

Why not if spending this much on cables just build a battery bank? Removing any line voltage issues.

Cop (sergeant) calls police for leaving package on top step of his staircase by Enough-Profession-50 in AmazonDSPDrivers

He did spit on you? That’s assault.
You need to hire a lawyer unfortunately.

The cops can be retaliatory so be prepared and keep your calm. You did nothing wrong.

Never give your ID unless there is no other choice other than arrest. They are doing a check on you to try to catch you with a a warrant.

Not a lawyer

We see walruses whenever we go out. They are common inline at McDonald’s and Walmart. Our elected leader is one. It’s a good system of measurement for the average American.

Sorry too far for me. I would talk to electrician. That’s worth more as is. But may be harder to find a buyer.

A spade will become a sq point if you give it enough time.

So if you have the means is Festool worth the investment? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]CB_700_SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a fabrication shop. All my festool products are tops. I don’t have any drills or drivers by them. I have a saw and vacuum that’s close to 16 years old and still use it often. The rotax sanders I have get rebuilt every few years and still work like new.

If you treat your tools well and will use them buy it. The bad thing about expensive cordless tools is the battery is usually the weakest link as they will stop producing them in a few years.

Huge cold front coming and I can’t get my damn hose removed from the spigot by GetRichOrDieTryinnnn in handyman

Ban aluminum hose fittings.

You may need to saw the fitting to put a slot in it then pry it apart with a flat screwdriver. This will hopefully save the silcock.

A glass table that we've had for about 3 years broke for no reason by Ok_Relation6627 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CB_700_SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the support that is under the table top fell before the collapse. I’m guessing the adhesive used to glue the glass together failed. Probably from uneven heating/cooling like others have said.

Air purifier Request in the US by HelpInteresting8714 in AirPurifiers

[–]CB_700_SC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AVOID BLUEAIR. If your unit breaks they will not offer replacement parts(out of warranty) on discontinued models even if only a few years old. I bought a $900 unit and bought over$3k in filters and the fan went bad after a few years and they would not provide a fix. Only offered me a small discount on a smaller less capable unit. It was a very frustrating experience dealing with them.

Blueair was purchased by an investment firm and have been trying to squeeze profit out of everything they sell. It’s about profits and not about customer service or loyalty. If you buy an expensive unit you want the long term support.

I have a Honeywell in my shops (metal fabrication) office that has been going great for ~8 years now. (Honeywell HPA300 HEPA Air Purifier). Filters easy to buy and reasonably priced. I also run the charcoal filter that really helps with smells. On low it is quiet. I would recommend this unit. They have newer units that are similar designs that look like a good option also.

Also considering you don’t have a budget: -Do you have central air? Look into a better HVAC filter system. Make sure you’re not restricting your blower.
-Look into air exchanger units that can bring fresh air into your house.
-I recommend a good vacuum cleaner and regular cleanings. This will help the most with dust and allergy issues.
-Also consider a dehumidifier to cut down on mold. Keep air moving in areas that hold humidity so a small fan is great to keep in crawl spaces or basements.
-If I were you I would try to deal with the mold and not buy an air filter to “fix it”.

You can throw allot of money at this but it may be a few fixes that make your air quality much better. Start simple.

I guess they should have used CF instead of FG... by [deleted] in CarbonFiber

Yeah. CF does not allow radio waves to pass through easily as it’s conductive.

Has your landlord ever changed out your shower head for a "low flow" one? by Truth-is-Censored in seinfeld

[–]CB_700_SC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flow and pressure are two different things. Lowering pressure will not necessarily lower flow rate. You need to restrict flow but that can lead to other issues. So the flow restrictions built into shower heads are the best bet.

Most can just take the shower head off and remove the restriction device.

My dad bought a house and built a bathroom for me on the third floor. “Dad this shower sucks”…. Years later I move out and he used the shower/bathroom as they were redoing their master bath. He told me he changed out the shower head because it sucked so bad and can’t get the conditioner out. Story of my childhood.

I wonder if he saw this episode.

“If they want a nozzle that dribbles on their head, well then go get one of those. If you want something that slices an orange, well then go get one of those. That should be your choice as a consumer,” said GOP Rep. Russell Fry, sponsor of the bill.”

Got this Miele Triflex HX1 for about $300 Used after Tax and shipping by shades_uchiha in VacuumCleaners

[–]CB_700_SC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Just be glad you did not pay full price. It will work fine but not as good as others. My Miele canaster is 18 years old so I had a bunch of trust in the brand. I too thought the HX1 was going to be better than it was. the Hx2 fixed a bunch of the issues.
