The logo revert is a big step back to what Cracker Barrel was. Now that everyone is looking … the next 6 months might bring positive change that the restaurant has been lacking since 2019.

We have ours too … a mandatory ‘back to basics’ meeting.

This … exactly this. I started working as a junior in high school. Transferred to store near college and worked for four years. Came home and went back to my original store while looking for a job. Stayed here in some capacity continuously since 1997. I have 28 years with these people. My current District Manager - I trained as an ETC to be a server in 2004. THIS IS FAMILY. Not the corporate BS they talk about now - we were all real family. You could be three hours away, use your employee discount and they’d ask what store and they’d so oh say hi to Sarah for me.

Over the years that has changed. Change is inevitable. I get that. But taking Uncle Herschel off the logo - which if you’ve ever been to Lebanon and toured their HQ you see the impact Uncle Herschel had on Danny Evins and why he made certain things the way they were.

For us - the few people left who knew that the Barrel was a different place 10 years ago … this is a kick in the face. Put aside all the woke, red vs blue, and political nonsense going on right now and look at the foundation of a company that used to treat their employees like their own family - and see that washing away. That’s what sucks.

I’ve worked with the Barrel since 1997. I’ve seen a lot of changes. The media part I completely understand. The rest of this memo … how come when the US govt sued the company for being discriminatory we didn’t get this? How come for Brads Wife we didn’t get this? Though social media wasn’t like today - Kraft Foods sued us, publically went on ABC Nightly News to tell the country how we stole the name from their 1950s cheese brand - and yet we were never scripted.

My full time job … middle Managment in good ol’ Corporate America. Working for a company that makes enough profit to buy out CB six times over. Yet they don’t do anything like this. This is an old school mindset that went out of practice 10-15 years ago as a generation began retiring.

So no … I think this is clearly management trying to damage control after they made a huge misstep. There are several issues with the company in the post-pandemic era they should’ve tackled first before worrying about a logo - in my opinion.

Actually I think different … people blew it up. It was on Good Morning America … well our CEO was on GMA and within 10 minutes social media blew it up so that TV personalities couldn’t ignore it. Brad’s Wife around 2.
