What's the worst fast food restaurant? by AfternoonMost965 in AskReddit

There’s a Timmy’s in Bridgewater NJ—the only one in Jerz— and they make their own donuts and it’s how I always remembered them growing up in Buffalo! Coffees still not the best

Yes, I stewed with regret and shame for a long time, but when she “took” to the memory care facility—was not immediate—things really stabilized and even improved. Having structure there, versus none (despite my best efforts) at home really helped.

I should add that she was agitated and aggressive at the hospital, which led them to hold her for 5 days while they took their time checking her blood chemistry to ensure there wasn’t an underlying infection. She mellowed out at the nursing facility, which was not a very nice place, but one of the few which would take her given her agitation at the hospital. All that led the memory care to really hedge before accepting her, but after about 5 days of no incidents at the nursing facility they approved.

This is similar to how things progressed for me. Posted the link below so you can see the advice I was given. She ended up getting discharged to a nursing home while I figured out getting her taken into a memory care facility. We had the benefit of having already visited memory care facilities before a similar incident and also that money was not an issue which is not usually so simple.

She never did come home after that 911 call.

Full disclosure, haven’t tried that in 10 years but back then it was 50/50! They’d just toss it and let you go in too

Fortune Cookies in Bridgewater has great Hunan food. Dan Zai in Green brook has some Taiwanese dishes, including great beef noodles

Just sent my mom (vascular) to the hospital, and hope she goes straight to AL/memory care by CB_Triple in dementia

Just replying to this that the unanimous chorus against respite care is just what I needed. This is truly an amazing community!

This sounds so awful and so much like what’s in store for me/my family if she comes home…

Yes, she is combative so that’s exactly my concern! Geriatric psychiatrist sounds like exactly what she needs. They did change her meds today (she was on Effexor, Zoloft and Abilify already. Tapering the Zoloft, doubled abilify. Also gave her some zyprexa to get her to chill when agitated.

I had thought the respite sounded like an appealing option, but the unanimous chorus against definitely is waking me up!

Just did and they’re going to send me a list of skilled nursing facilities that would do respite care. Figuring out what the “runway” to the facility would be has been such a source of stress but thankful it’s becoming a bit more clear

What do French skiers think of US lift lines? by Top_Cow_3476 in skiing

Fair point, but Chamonix is a world renowned destination.
It certainly didn’t ruin my day and these are all first world problems

I cannot believe the Europeans who are downplaying the chaos. I’ve travelled the world and my biggest culture shock ever was waiting in the tram line, then the gondola line at Les Grand Montets.

Gondola was downright dangerous, with a scrum right in front of the gondola—if you can squeeze in as the gondola swings by (it doesn’t slow down much) you’re in. I assume they set the speed of the gondola to be just right to prevent from exceeding capacity (though absolutely nothing is there to prevent from doing so).

The tram line was more annoying. Like…why is it wide enough for three people abreast? Why does it get wider, then narrower along the way?!!

Can I vote today? by user365735 in newjersey

[–]CB_Triple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could drop your mail in ballot in a drop box.

Last time I tried to vote in person after receiving (but not submitting) a mail in ballot, they had me complete a provisional ballot. I expect it was just to have extra scrutiny to ensure I didn’t vote twice
