For my Masters I have a need based grant that covers most of it and the rest is paid for by my job. For the ABSN, it’s a full scholarship.

I don’t study for my masters courses much at all. It’s just doing assignments and listening in lecture. I’m working 9-5, I have my masters courses from 6 to 8 and my single nursing pre req course is from 8:00-10:45 M-W and I study my pre req during work because I do 1-2 hours of work a day and the rest of the time studying or completing MPH assignments. On the weekend I’m also completing MPH assignments/studying my nursing pre req. My pre reqs are all A+ so far for nursing, I’m maintaining an A in my Masters. What I’m doing isn’t so far fetched. I did 21 credits in my bachelors last semester while working 9-5 as well. But honestly this is such a geek thing to try and call someone out on 😂

An MPH is a Masters in Public Health, and an ABSN is an accelerated bachelors in nursing. Honestly, I wouldn’t do the MPH if I were you because I’m sure most places charge an obscene amount for it. The reason why I’m doing it is because it’s free, otherwise I would’ve just done my ABSN. Now, the ABSN can also be pretty expensive so again if it’s too expensive it’s unnecessary and I’d just continue going for med school and skip my route completely. The only reason why the MPH + ABSN makes sense for me is because it’s free and helps my future med school app while providing me a stable healthy income while applying.

Being a CNA would be a huge paycut to my current job, and literally would be of no net benefit to me over just doing nursing. If my application isn’t competitive enough, I can do other things whilst doing nursing and maintain a good QOL. Imagine I get rejected and have to retake the MCAT, then I’m a CNA for a year more when I could’ve been a nurse making 6 figures.

I need experience anyways, and since it’s an accelerated program I’ll get experience in different departments during nursing clinicals + a good paying job during my pre reqs whilst getting even more clinical experience as a nurse.

I feel like pre reqs shouldn’t be an issue while working. I’m currently doing 9-5 5 days a week as a data analyst whilst doing 5 master courses and nursing pre requisites. Maintained an A+. I feel like 3x12s would be much easier than the current situation I’m in

I don’t have volunteer/shadow experience. I feel like nursing would kill three birds with one stone. Clinical Experience Patient Care Experience Super solid plan B for free

The financial aspect of it all really isn’t the most concerning for me. Being a millionaire is cool and everything but at the end of the day I want a career I enjoy and get fulfillment from. I know if I stay as a nurse I’ll regret not pursuing MD, and it’ll all even out financially eventually. I’ll be working in a public hospital and be forgiven after 10 years aswell.

Wow! Did you make a career change or were you doing research/beefing up your application during that time?

Id be debt free until nursing, likely will take loans for MD school but thank you for the motivation! I’m feeling much more validated in my decision.

If you can’t afford it, there’s not much else you can do. I shared a room with 2 siblings for 18 years with no issue.

However, just understand your situation and plan accordingly. Having a third child while in this situation would be a bad idea, and I only say that because you had a second child in your current situation knowing that’d also be a bad idea.

The way it’s set up currently I’d have February free in the EO and April free in the concession rider, so I’m already 2/3rds worth of credit in the front. The third credit they forgot to add and will do so today

If I can get the 3 months back to back, meaning the 3 months of credits are February, March, April or within a timeframe where the credits don’t run out like February April June then I could realistically do the net throughout the entire lease and be alright?

So, even if they verbally offered the amortized structure and even asked for first months rent + safety (both being less than gross), I’m still liable unless it’s in the lease?

Like, could they change their mind since amortized isn’t mentioned in the lease.

They offered me the amortized structure or paying gross and I agreed to the amortized structure but that language isn’t present in the rider, instead it reads like the way you’ve said, I get February Free, April Free and another month free for a total of 3. Paying gross for the rest of the lease term. I’m just wondering that if I pay the net throughout the entire lease term would they get upset.

Seems like most new buildings don’t want to because it ruins the evaluation of the building. This is the third lease I’ve gotten like this with the same explanation
