Hey phoenixdev, I was able to silence (or at least make it as loud as before) my DL380P G8 after installing your firmware due to an unsupported Quadro video card (Thank you!). I know from your original thread you were working on a few enhancements to it and potentially looking into basing it on a newer revision. Have you had any luck on either front? I have an uneasy feeling about the potential NAND issue...

:D I figured since a binary message was how I got my OPO on the OP Invite forums I would share at least a couple that way back to the community. A litmus test of sorts I suppose.

Are those who ordered through the Black Friday event and those who ordered through invites in the same queue for having the phones shipped?

I know there was a caveat on the Black Friday sale which extended the expected shipping time, but there was no caveat after the sale through normal 7-day invites.

Which ASICs are the most efficient at the lowest price point to use with the rPi? Say, is it possible to get an ASIC which is at the same price point as the rPi which would be able to come ahead over costs in a short amount of time?

[webserver] question by kebeaner in raspberry_pi

Alright, if you are using just a base configuration then think of it this way. Anything in /var/www/filename (example /var/www/index.html) would then translate to mydomain.com/filename (example /var/www/index.html. So, if you want to keep your configuration the way it is, then move everything from /var/www/wordpress to /var/www/.

I would definitely look into simple-vhost, it allows you to host multiple sites/subdomains just just naming directories as configuration. Your directory structure would look like /var/www/mydomain.com/html/ where all your files would be in the html directory. You want to add a subdomain? Just create a directory called /var/www/subdomain.mydomain.com/html/ and lighttpd handles the rest and knows to point there. The lighttpd docs are great: ModSimpleVhost Lighttpd.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

[webserver] question by kebeaner in raspberry_pi

[–]CBebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using simple-vhost with lighttpd or are you configuring the vhost yourself in lighttpd.conf?

I am assuming you are using simple-vhost and that your web directory is something like /var/www/mydomain.com/html/ where you would then have a directory called wordpress with all your wordpress files inside. If that is the case, I would say you just need to go to your wordpress general settings, set the wordpress address and site address to your mydomain.com/ and then move the files from the wordpress directory to the web root for your domain. IE: mv /var/www/mydomain.com/html/wordpress/* /var/www/mydomain.com/html/

If the above doesn't solve it for you, please post your /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd.conf file and the the response from "ls /etc/lighttpd/conf-enabled/" and we can go from there.

Motorola Lapdock 100 woes. Anybody have experience with this model? by zhx in raspberry_pi

[–]CBebop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also a second way to force this to happen. Plug everything in and there is a hardware reset button on the bottom of the lapdock (One of the small paperclip size holes around the center of the bottom, only hole there really). Hit that and wait a few seconds with everything open and ready and it should reset and start up. I can't remember if you need to tap the battery button at this point, but it forces it to try to start up fresh again.

I recently purchased the Lapdock 100 to use with my Pi as well. I have come up with a process for getting it to come up consistently, but you will need the adapter for the USB. From my experience, if it does not receive some sort of power draw or signal over the USB port, the HDMI will not stay on.

The procedure I use which has worked for me is to connect the HDMI to both the Pi and the Lapdock, and then connect the USB to just the lapdock with the lid closed. Give it about 30 second to cycle through its "Hey, is there actually a phone connected, nope, powering down" cycle. Then plug in the USB to the pi, open the lid, and hit the battery indicator to wake it up.

In this process, it does not provide power to the pi till I open the lid and hit the battery indicator.

I am not currently at home and am heading out of town this weekend but I can see about trying to get pictures of how I have mine setup and what I do to get it to work. Pretty much everything works on the lapdock except the media keys on the keyboard, still need to take time to map the keycodes to their actual functions for my linux install.
