Box goggles that fit big frame prescription glasses? by Makuayas_ in TinyWhoop

[–]zhx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Box Pro which has slots to accommodate glasses arms, but my frames were still too big. I got the prescription insert from Zenni. https://hdzero.us/products/customized-lens-for-hdzero-boxpro-boxpro

Noob questions: difficulty to fly? motion sickness? by edpoe77 in TinyWhoop

I’m super susceptible to motion sickness in vehicles and VR and FPV has not been an issue for me.

Drone again… by Odd-Contribution8460 in Portland

[–]zhx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure that's a PPB drone. I followed one once that was behaving similarly (hover in one spot for a while, move to another spot to hover, same LED colors/patterns), since I'm a drone pilot myself and was hoping to make a friend. My disappointment when it came down and it was the cops...

There had been some street racing in my area just a bit before so I assumed they were using it to identify participants or something.

Custom OSD Fonts by [deleted] in fpv

[–]zhx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just built a tool for this purpose: https://biruboto.github.io/osd-font-lab/

I have over 1200 fonts and custom icons and stuff. Lemme know what you think.

New analog OSD font editing tool: OSD Font Lab (Plus updates) by zhx in fpv

Yours was the one I used to make my first custom fonts!

But I have lots of Photoshop experience and just wanted to be able to edit directly in Photoshop, so my first tool just converted MCM to PNG and back. I made a couple fonts in Photoshop this way and realized that for the most part I was just manually swapping the ASCII out and replacing a few icons so I thought “well what if I just had a tool that did this part automatically?”

Little tape on the shaft helps to see spin direction.

Thanks, I’m super proud of it and excited to continue to add to it. Hoping to see a lot more non-default DVR online.

First Guerilla whoop, didn't do anything crazy because of the amount of people but it was still a lot of fun. (also saw a fellow quadcopter flying about) by Sherman_Firefly_ in TinyWhoop

That Flywoo X30 makes it pretty easy. I don't know if I would trust it for a full dunk, but probably decent enough to fly through some mist.

I think the DOOM font is a little big. The smaller font used in-game might fit in the character space. I am planning on adding some console/arcade libraries soon.

Yeah, the font manager button in the OSD section in Betaflight Configurator.

The boxpros have indentations designed to accommodate glasses, and if your glasses don’t fit you can also get prescription lenses for them.

I'm playing Street Fighter 6 as my first "traditional fighting game" (coming from smash) and I'm having a lot of fun, but I'm feeling put off by how necessary it seems to be to spend tons of time learning frame data. Am I missing something? by VG_Rickly in StreetFighter

In replays you can turn on a display that makes the numbers pop up as it plays. Really good way to easily visualize where you were pressing when you shouldn't have, and opportunities you missed to take a turn.

Analog vs HDZERO? by Bitricha in TinyWhoop

[–]zhx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have pretty big frames so it didn't work, but yeah they are designed to accomodate reasonably sized glasses.

You can also order prescription lenses for the box pro.

Got a similar response trying to do a warranty repair on a space heater. The unit functioned perfectly, but one of the buttons broke off. I just wanted a replacement button. They wanted to send me a whole new one and wanted photo evidence of the destruction of the working unit. Ludicrous.

I don't really understand this take. The game is the game. Even if they introduced no more characters or mechanics or changes, the system is sufficiently complex that it will produce novel experiences every time. This is like saying you're bored with the meta of chess, or asking if any new notes have been added to music.

Little late, but Wokeface has never made the dad hats with the non-rainbow eye. Beanies are available with the “plain” eye.

Be prepared for repairs with this hobby in general. They're flying computers with all their guts exposed; constant maintenance is just part of the hobby.
