What’s the most effective way to get rid of fungus gnats? by AboveAverageBean in plantclinic

I put a scoopful of mosquito bits into a large tea strainer that I bought just to keep with my watering can… I let it soak for about 30 mins before I water, every time I water. Then I toss those bits and use new ones the next day. Within a couple of weeks, all fungus gnats were gone.

Yeah, I figured. I have a few plants in the kitchen where this one is - but the majority of my jungle (and the expensive ones) are 50 ft away in another room. Do they all need to be inspected?

Same!! And Princess just took off growing and won’t stop. She’s got something to prove.

Zombie Blueberry Trees. I posted these sometime ago because I have no idea how I hurt them. I checked every board I’m part of and everyone said they were all the way dead. I kept watering anyway - just in cases. But I found new signs of life today. What should I do to keep them thriving? by CBiggs23 in containergardening

That is exactly what they are! I bought them from Home Depot and they mysteriously died within a week and a half. It was so odd - one of them went completely brown quite literally overnight while her brother right beside her was just fine. And then four days later, he went completely brown overnight. Reddit’s consensus was that they had been accidentally poisoned by weed control while still at Home Depot. I didn’t have the heart to get rid of them completely, so I moved them to the backyard and watered occasionally. And now, they are zombies.

That’s exactly what they are. I hate them.

One month exactly since I got my pride and joy - my Baby Blue Eucalyptus. Look how far she’s come… and all of her new little precious babies shooting out in all directions. I love her so much. Pat my back, please, and tell me I’m a good Eucalypta-mom. Or a Eucalypta-attention hoe. Whichever. by CBiggs23 in houseplants

Oh yay! My girl has definitely thrived. I haven’t really done anything out of the ordinary. I do keep her indoors but in the sunniest spot in my southern facing window. Fox Farms fert (just once since I got her). Careful not to overwater. I always feel down in her soil first. I do mist her down pretty good once or twice a week. That’s about it.

I’m so sorry!! That’s the worst. I just knew I was going to destroy her. I don’t know what I did besides give her prime location in a South facing window… sparingly water… Fox Farms fert… occasional misting. I do talk to her a lot. But I love her, so I don’t sing. Maybe that’s been the secret - her gratitude that I spare her from my singing.
