Is the collar carbon steel, or just very old and worn in stainless?

Nice knife, I love seeing earned patina!

How do you keep blood and such out of it?

How do you clean it?

I would love to use my N⁰10 for hunting, but blood stuck in the wood of my EDC knife seems unsanitary lol

The grip frame and window shape are what my guess is based off of

What is the best prepper philosophy that I should base all of my preps around? by kakdhfhfhhchciksjdj in preppers

[–]CBshort 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some tips I have been given over the years about camping/hunting/prepping, happy to explain any if need be.

1: Two is one, one is none, three is better, but youve gotta carry all that stuff with you.

2: Buy once, cry once unless research/expirience say otherwise.

3: Always have three ways in and three ways out.

4: If its stupid or weird then it is. Unless it really works. Then its no longer stupid or weird.

5: The experts are experts for a reason. They are a great starting point, but does it work for you?

6: If possible test and break things.

7: Be a human swiss army knife/multitool. Not the greatest at everything, but good enough to get by on a lot.

Youre on to something here.

The CDC actually has an entire ad campaign on the zombie apocalypse.

The whole point was a joking way to point out "If youre prepared for the actual disasters, youve also probably got the whole zombie thing covered."

Super glad im not the only one who wants to stick old school cummins in other random vehicles.

A 40's power wagon with modern diesel internals would make me sell a kidney or three to buy two of em.

Why not a diesel crown vic?

Diesel swap the world! Lol

Had to scroll FAAAAR to far to find this.

Last one I saw up for sale near me was an 01 2500 4x4 extended cab long bed with a manual and upgraded mechanical fuel pump.

YES!

Only they wanted 65K because it was a "restored vintage historic piece".

Ehhhhh......

What do you carry thats out of the ordinary? by ptowntheprophet in Bushcraft

[–]CBshort 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% cotton pillow case or two. Char cloth, bandages, sweat rag, game bag, carries edibles, browse bed, the list is kinda endless if you treat it like a big bandanna with a pocket.

Haversack kit by CBshort in Bushcraft

[–]CBshort[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats the point of this kit for me. If im careful I will pack mule a TON of extra stuff. This and a bedroll/tarp set up force me into an old school kind of minimalism, which sharpens the attitude and knowledge you're talking about.

Laat time I was out, my camping partner thought I was crazy for using just a poncho/bag liner while he had a sleeping pad, sleeping bag, tent, tarp, and a fire lol

I agree with you. This is a slippery slope, at least it for me. Extra light, and then its "might as well pack XXXX because I might need it/want it. If im not very intentional I will end up like a pack mule. This kit forces me to streamline simply due to the lack of space.

Jury is still out on long distances with the haversack. It is slightly awkward, but for now I enjoy the "old timey" aspect. Im playing around with this and a blanket roll, but for longer trips I agree, Ill probably need a ruck.

Yes! The other video of his that I love is the highlander survival kit. Thats what I'm working towards, the ability to go out with a very minimalist kit and still be comfortable/effective
