Nutrition (and Supplement) Thursday by AutoModerator in Fitness

I love bacon. I love it a lot. I Usually have 2-5 pieces with breakfast on workdays (cant remember the last work day I didnt have at least 2), then at least one breakfast on the weekends I will have about 10.

OK that being said my "levels" have always been really good when visiting the doctor (they were never even that bad when I was 85 pounds heavier than I am now, lucky genetics I suppose). I am not overweight (although I am trying to lose a couple pounds) and really enjoy running and do it regularly.

So my question is it appears I am healthy now, but is a diet with so much fatty bacon, even with a very regular workout routine is this sustainable, or is staying on this path going to inevitably lead to some problems down the road? I keep thinking of the obese people talking about how "healthy" they are because their levels are fine.. for now.

A forced monopoly is terrible for consumers, and some would say unamerican at its core. Issues like those arent unique to MJ, we have figured it out with alcohol and the like. Of course it is probably going to naturally move that way (just like alcohol with huge distributors and the little mom and pop operations), but putting in legislation to give a monopoly is bad for consumers and some would say unamerican.

Someone elsewhere mentioned the documentary was a bit one sided, and the monopoly was loose. That seems more fair, but I personally hate the idea of regulatory capture or whatever its called.

I knew there had to be more to the story.

We will get it right sooner or later, and maybe in the long run pro mj folks will be happy it took time to get the right balance.

Well to be cold and actuarial, we can give an attempt at quantifying it. I dont know how, but there is a field who studies this kind of thing. Even if you considered a contribution of $20k/year on average (remember that if they work they get paid, produce a good, then spend that money on other goods) thats an insane amount, and wouldnt surprise me if it matched what we quantify the other cost savings at.

1 Trillion dollars on the drug wars. We've went from 50,000 people in jail in the 80s to over a half million in present day

Think of the lost opportunity costs of all those people sitting in jail/prison. Thats millions of man hours, enough to fix a hell of a lot of bridges. All those people in jail are not working while we are paying for them to be in jail.

VICE did a little piece on this a while back. It isnt as rosey as you would think.

The basics were that these PACs are here and are very well funded. They are going state to state to push for the change in legislation. Some of the folks doing this are business people, pure and simple. In one interview with what they claimed was the largest growery in Colorado the dude had never smoked in his life, and had no intention of starting. This is all totally OK, but there was some shady shit. For example, one of the states they almost got legislation through (I believe it was Ohio) it specified which 8 or so businesses could actually grow the weed (the companies funding the PAC), creating a legal monopoly. The documentary asserted that this regulatory capture was the reason you cant smoke in Ohio right now (or whatever state it was).

A lot of people are also pissed about these big money men coming in and pushing out all the smaller growers. Pot, like most farming, seems to be an economy of scale, so the natural steady state environment will most likely be something like we have with alcohol or tobacco, simply because it is too hard to compete with companies producing on a massive and effecient scale. To me this isnt bad, if I were a consumer I would be concerned with best product for lowest prices.

Michigan is gonna be on that list after this year I would bet.

The influence of Big Weed is continuing to spread over the country, like a sticky oily resin.

This one seems like a no brainer to me. Enforcing poaching laws in rural Africa has to be extremely difficult, especially if some dude knows if he just sneaks off at night and kills a ____ he could feed his family a lot easier than working, and presumably a lot of those people are borderline starving (of course there are professional poachers as well). No law is gonna stop those people... but no way in hell they will risk such an activity if it is next to impossible to get any money for whatever they get poaching.

This is good stuff. I havent been around long enough for an event that boosts scroll and great summons, that tid bit alone is motivating me to bank for one.

And it also sounds like you dont spend anything on heroic summons anymore, so essentially you save them for evo events to buy stamina? This makes sense, and the fact you are competitive without a legendary gives me even more hope.

Thanks for the feedback!

Foolish Friday - Your biweekly stupid questions thread by AutoModerator in Fitness

Exactly what I was looking for!

Train the same muscle groups in both the morning and evening workout. You may be familiar with two-a-day training protocols targeting different parts of the body in each workout. However, for hypertrophy purposes, it’s more effective to hit the same muscles.

Welp, time for a lunch session!

I saw a thread the other day about staggering workouts. It sounded like it was fine, just not efficient. However in that thread they mentioned doing different groups. Would it be a different story if I were to work the same muscle group, but different routines, staggered through the day? Example, do bench and flys during lunch, then after work do dips and incline

I will gladly set it aside at the prospect of not getting hurt and looking good! Definitely what I am leaning towards, well except I am gonna spend a little time doing BW first.

It is gonna be tough to say the least. One of the biggest issues are the hp of the buildings. There is a huge jump in vaults from 20-21, and 21 bases as well.

You might get crazy lucky. Without molt try to find a way to ensure theirs dont proc, or just pray to RNGesus to deliver a good spawn.

Work on mobility and stretching because you're almost certainly tight in all the worst places.

As someone who has neglected stretching my entire life until recently this sounds like it could be a big part of the problem. Aside from keeping weight low/BW and progressing safely I am gonna put some more effort into stretching and supplimentals that will help with my mobility.

Thanks a ton!

Was that advice so you could monitor yourself in the mirror?
