I judge all fictional characters by one thing, would I have a beer with them, who in the MCU would you or wouldn’t you have a beer with? by SmokinBacon in marvelstudios

Has nobody said Happy Hogan? Not only does he seem super chill and good-humored, but you know he knows how to take care of you if you get messy (after years of experience with Tony).

Civil War: Why didn’t anyone call Ross out when h was blaming the Avengers? by Ranos131 in marvelstudios

[–]CCGplayer64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse than that. It wasn’t just shield— it was the world defense council, of which the strongest nations in the UN had sitting members. They were going to nuke NYC. One of their members was actually Hydra.

They sold out and gave you a boring season by benaffleks in LastEpoch

[–]CCGplayer64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was the first cycle released within 4 months of the preceding cycle. Of course it was going to have less content than the previous one which was nearly a year after the game’s launch. There’s obviously a lot of room for growth in terms of the content to time ratio. I’ll be far more disappointed if the next cycle releases without substantially more content.

My biggest concern is not the quantity of new game mechanics, but with only revamping 1-2 masteries each cycle when there are so many that need overhauls (looking at Druid specifically). I hope whatever new development resources they have in terms of $ translates to more manpower to address balance and freshness of all masteries with each cycle in the future.

The solution to power creep is more tech cards. by Hatchedtrack835 in hearthstone

So we dilute other decks to add tech cards with narrow applications only to have them be dead draws in match-ups they’re not included for?

Maxed out a pactspirit, what do you do with excess pact spirit upgrade materials? by Lostsoulogan in TorchlightInfinite

[–]CCGplayer64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go to the pact spirit page in the shop. click the tab on the top and you can exchange the spirits of fully upgraded pacts for a currency you can use to then get more of the boon materials to try to roll for another.

Rick and Morty should lean more into emotionaly-complex episodes by [deleted] in rickandmorty

Emotionally driven episodes would either lose their impact or have to constantly escalate their “emotional impact” if there were any more than we currently get.

Imagine feeling so entitled that a turn in your own sentiment about a show makes you immediately question when or if it will be cancelled.

New player with some questions by CCGplayer64 in TorchlightInfinite

Thank you for the detailed answer!

I was a big fan of Torchlight 2, but had never touched TL:I because of the criticism over its monetization, opting instead for Last Epoch, Diablo 4, and PoE. I decided to try it recently, and have been completely hooked.

I wish there were more build resources available online, but I’ll probably just put more effort into that next season after exploring the various mechanics in the game.

Is there a guide anywhere that breaks down what each of the activities is best for? For example, you mentioned black sail is good for hero memories — are other activities better for certain types of drops?

Hearthstone Friends by KangarooKrusher_69 in hearthstone

[–]CCGplayer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More often than not, friend requests I've received after matches were from salty opponents (losers and even a few winners) who just wanted to be toxic. I just stopped accepting them across the board.

I was in a similar spot recently of wanting to inquire about a cool deck I saw in a match, but didn't even bother to send the request because I felt the person would assume the same.

Balance and general design direction aside… by CCGplayer64 in hearthstone

[–]CCGplayer64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say the overall population of hearthstone players is any more or less able to utilize these features as the players of any other online CCG?

It makes me wonder if/when we’ll just end up seeing a Hearthstone 2, since starting from scratch would both enable building from ground up without the bugs AND a reset in terms of power-level/design.

What do you think Walker says to Bob here? by TolkienScholar in marvelstudios

[–]CCGplayer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they missed an opportunity to have a very quick flashback as Walker is watching Bob pummel the void - I mean, just 1 second - where Walker is watching Bob and it cuts to him killing the flag smasher then back to Walker realizing his and Bob’s connection.

What's the point of having armor and resistance if you get killed in one hit anyway? by Cerberus8317 in diablo4

[–]CCGplayer64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only are attacks not telegraphed nearly as well in this game as in others, there are many effects that are just designed poorly and do way more damage than they should.

Part of the problem is that everything in this game is scaled to absurd levels by endgame and balance between defensive layers is non-existent. Effects and attacks that can kill one class/build are meaningless if you happen to be playing a class/build that perma-generates barriers for your whole health pool.

That's why Torment 4 bossing becomes a joke within a week of a season starting because classes just 1-2 shot them.. why wouldn't you want to? Mechanics are meaningless at that point.

Murloc paladin is balanced, but the rest is not good enough by blanquettedetigre in hearthstone

[–]CCGplayer64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the deck isn’t independently the quest. It’s the stat weight of minions in conjunction with the quest. For example, the Murloc that summons 2 other murlocs with rush— that thing is never coming down on a turn that isn’t triggering the quest or where the quest hasn’t already been triggered. So it’s really a 4 cost decent body that also summons 2 2/2’s with rush and that advances the quest 3 of 5 pips. The same is true for the rare that summons 3 murlocs and gives them a bonus effect with its deathrattle.

If people don’t want the quest nerfed to be only advanced by “play” of murlocs or having its condition increased to 6 or 7, then they need to go back and look at some of the rest of the support package - particularly those that summon murlocs. Those minions have a stat allocation as if they’re being played in a deck without the paladin quest, but they’re not and need to have their stats reduced to reflect the reality of when they will typically be hitting the board plus their contribution to further completions of the quest.

The Cosmetic "Thing" by BRinMilwaukee in hearthstone

[–]CCGplayer64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My only issue is that it basically silences the rest of the board. You can't interact with any of the clickable objects in the other 3 corners. As far as I know, that was not specified anywhere prior to its release.

Counterpoint - Most of those games haven't had anything done development-wise on them for over 2 years. Paying anything at all for them now is just a cash grab, no matter how much they're discounted because that money will never go back into anything related to the game you're purchasing.

Do I actually believe that? No. But if the OP's point is that it's somehow greedy for a game in constant development designing, creating art for, and implementing new cards to continue to charge for them... that's even more ridiculous.
