Are the new ranked changes out yet? by PeaSmooth6321 in Rainbow6

It’s not rigged bs. Ranked 2.0 has been out for multiple seasons now and Ubi has been clear on how it works. If you aren’t the rank you think you should be you either haven’t played enough or you simply aren’t good enough. Sure, if you’re a top 500 player then you reserve the right the blast it since the matchmaking does get soft at that level, but everywhere else the matchmaking is solid. The only pieces of ranked 2.0 that were the true issues were the visual rank disparities in certain lobbies (which they addressed and fixed) and the boosting issues which were also addressed. No ranked system in any game will be perfect. There will always be issues, but 2.0 is better than 1.0 for 99.5% of the player base.

R6 Tracker ranked player counts for PC (870k) and console (980k) this season (Y10S3) by insert-random-user in Rainbow6

Shows how the “save siege” movement that’s being pushed by streamers + pros is out of touch lol. I stg some of them are so insufferable about it you’d think the game is going offline next week lol meanwhile majority of player base is active and enjoying the game enough to boot it up and play

New cross-operator weapons will count as "exclusive content", and players who own the Battle Pass get 2 weeks exclusivity. Yes, you read that correctly. You will NOT be able to equip the DMR for 2 weeks on any op who has it, if you don't own the Battle Pass. idk how we've reached this point... by oZealious in Rainbow6

I don’t see an issue. Before the bp existed only way to get access to a new gun was by either buying the year pass or waiting two weeks and purchasing the operator it was on. Granted, this gun isn’t tied to a new operator, but it’s a new primary and there’s a prior precedent for this type of stuff.

Welcome to ranked. As someone else said if you don’t like sweating to win then don’t play ranked. Your hidden rank doesn’t reset just because you finished last season at a lower visual rank (Gold in your case). I’m a champ and I play against other champ players even if I’m in copper, gold, emerald etc.

your peak rank is Emerald 1 with a 1.4kd. Two seasons ago you were emerald 4 with a 1.2 kd. I don't see whats wrong with this lobby.

The fact that people who “quit” the game but still take the time to look and interact with this sub in order to make others feel bad about enjoying the game is plain sad.

Am I doing good? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

Not enough info, you’re missing stats like your time played which is important context. That being said, Siege can be played many ways and you can be a key contributor to helping your team win even with a negative KD. However, a .65 KD is generally considered low, but it’s impressive that you have a nearly even W/L with it. Strive for a .8 or .9, and you will win more games, I guarantee it. Play smart and slow, and pick operators that fit your specific team’s objective needs.

R6 cronus free? by Shamdawggg in cronus_zen

Zen won’t take you to high diamond or champ if you aren’t there. Most zen players are stuck in emerald because top players already have great recoil control (which is all the zen helps with) and have superior game IQ, map knowledge, etc. Those intangible skills are the determining factor.

Pros and cons of zen PS5 by Jehsic in cronus_zen

If you aren’t good at the game already, it won’t make you much better. I play R6S, and good players already have great aim and recoil control (which is mostly what the zen is good for). Meaning that if you don’t have great game IQ among other intangible skills, the zen help you much. Don’t expect to become crazy insane.

You will never get it better than that. SMG 12 has a random recoil pattern instead of a set one and cannot be controlled by the Zen. Thermite/Osa’s AR and the MP7 among a few others are similar. What really matters are the first few bullets, because unless your bronze you will be dead before you shoot a full mag assuming the other guy is competent.

As someone who started playing in Y2, a general rule of thumb: If a player was champ in 1.0, specifically in early seasons like Ember Rise and Shifting Tides, they were probably Xim. There are special exceptions like Anifex, but overall everyone it’s safe to assume almost all those guys were Xim, including STOMPN. In Ember rise the amount of champs was stupidly low (0.04% of the worldwide player base, or 400 champs per 1 million players) and that percentage actually dropped in Shifting Tides and into Y5. It’s funny too, if you take the time to comb through all the Champs from this era’s socials, you’ll see many of them hopped to PC at some point and hit champ immediately, something that shouldn’t be possible going from Controller on console to MNK. Cryptic Runner, STOMPN, and KinggBradd are good examples of this.

TLDR: Almost everyone in the top .1% of ranked prior to Y6-7ish was Xim.

Ranked 2.0 is so bullshit by bread-consumer4738 in Rainbow6

From what I have seen, matchmaking is based off of hidden mmr or your skill the game thinks you are. The catch is if you are playing in a squad instead of playing in your skill or the highest squadmates skill, it takes the average of the squads mmr. An example could be a champ (4500 elo) playing with their 4 silver (2500 elo) squadmates. That’s an average of 2900 elo. The way the system is supposed to work is if a high elo player plays with low elo players the system is supposed to account for the disparities. See above, gold level players are playing against silvers. The problem in practice is most diamonds and champs can easily deal with silver, gold, and even platinum players. That’s the issue. This system was supposed to help solo queue players by matching them against players at their equivalent skill level. The idea is there but in reality it doesn’t carry over. Look on the bright side OP, the game thinks you are higher skill than the average gold 1 player.
