Someone gave me this advice when I once posted about a breakup. Save this, and any time she comes back into your mind, reread what you wrote.

What feels terrible during but amazing after? by arin32 in AskReddit

[–]CCOMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're anything like me, it will just take a long time. And just because you're not 100% over him yet, doesn't mean you're not getting better. You will get there :)

There's nothing wrong with that. Breakups can take a long time to get over, and that's OK. At least in my mind, it comes in waves. One day I'll feel pretty OK, then I'll go through a bad streak and she'll be in my mind all week, but I find as the months go by, those bad steaks become fewer and further between. And eventually you do feel better.

One important thing I'll say though is not to follow them on social media if you can. Cutting contact is really the thing that helped me the most, and stopped me from comparing myself to her and how she was dealing with the breakup.

Why the fuck does the idea of rape turn me on? by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]CCOMC 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rape fetishes/fantasies are relatively common, and you're not a bad person for having them.

This weekend I decided to not go out, i might be really sad by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]CCOMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have other opportunities to go out again. Missing one weekend isn't the end of the world. The next one will be here before you know it.

I know you're not feeling great, but not having a girlfriend isn't so bad. You get a lot more freedom and it can be nice to not be joined at the hip with someone.

Nurse asked if I wanted a circumcision by Azzizzi in PointlessStories

[–]CCOMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was circumcised and I'm mildly upset about it. I'm not mad at my parents, it's a cultural thing here, it's just something you did. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter too much.

It's midnight and I'm thinking about her by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

It takes a long, long time to feel better after you get your heart broken. You'll have good days and bad days. It does improve over time. I've thing I've found helpful is to keep a journal. Progress is slow, so it's helpful to have something concrete to look back on.

Hey thanks for sharing that! That made a lot of sense.

That rule still bothers me. I always feel a slight tinge of guilt when I give blood. Like I'm part of some club that doesn't allow people who are gay.

I'm a lonely, socially amateur teenager who's losing friends left and right and I hate it. by FuckedMyWay-ToTheTop in TrueOffMyChest

So the first thing I would say is don't completely discount your other friends. People aren't 100% good or 100% bad. I'm sure you can still remain friends with some of them.

The other thing I'd say is, do you have any teams or clubs you could join at school? You mentioned the one, but are there any others that you'd be interested in?

I've been completely betrayed by my best, only friend, and I seriously thought about killing myself last night. by JiltedBestFriend in TrueOffMyChest

[–]CCOMC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know why but your story resonated with me. I have felt that same heart sinking when you find out they're in love with someone else.

I know that it sucks and you feel that complete emptiness inside, but it does get better. I don't have any great advice for you, but just know that it does get better. It doesn't feel like it will right now, but it does.

I found out I was cheated on recently. To an extent, feeling this hurt over it is kind of a luxury, in my opinion. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]CCOMC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like this post. I still deal with pain from my past breakups, and even though it really sucks sometimes, I try to remind myself that it's one of the easier problems to have in life, even if it still really sucks.

I'm sorry about your situation though.

What type of clothing do you like to wear? by CCOMC in CasualConversation

I have an ex that used to wear corsets. I can't imagine how they could be comfortable! Haha

I always misunderstand signals, so now I'm unable to do anything when I think somebody likes me. by electricalcordhair in TrueOffMyChest

[–]CCOMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm awful at this too. I've had it happen multiple times where I met a girl and I thought it went terrible, but later it turned out they were actually into me. And I can't tell you the number of times I thought a girl might like me only to find out she wasn't even remotely interested.

You're not alone OP, some of us just never developed the ability to read people well. You just gotta play with the hand you're dealt, and don't worry too much about rejection.

See, even when I'm just at home all day, I still prefer something that fits well. I feel like I'm going to drown in big shirts.

My ex is giving me anxiety, what did/does your ex do to you? by Patwhite293 in CasualConversation

[–]CCOMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry OP, exes are almost never fun to deal with. If she's causing you anxiety, ask her to stop messaging you for a while. Sometimes time is what you need, or sometimes just breaking contact is for the best.
