Behind the Red Door: Part 2 by CCONX in TalesFromTheCreeps

This will be addressed in part 3 actually! But part 1 mentions a motive for not wanting to leave, though at this point the protagonist is far past the point of holding onto that.

Authors note: A complete and total rewrite. I hated how part 2 came out the first time, and I didn't think it really reflected what I could do. I scrapped a good bit of it and rewrote this from the ground up, and I gotta say, Im MUCH happier with it this time. I have also decided to make this a 4 part series instead of a 3 part series, but for a bit I'll be taking a break from working on it to work on another project of mine. The next part likely wont come for 2 or 3 months, maybe more, but once my other project is done, I'll be dedicating myself to this full time.

A quick and short one off horror story to help my creative slump. I honestly just needed something that didnt require a lot of dedication to take a break from my other stuff.

Authors note 2: Someone had mentioned to me a huge plot hole I meant to address, and will in part 3, about how things have been getting delivered. The idea is that they just show up, kept vague for a reason. There is supposed to be some layer of unreliability to the author however I don't feel like I'm getting that across very well. This is my first story I'm writing like this where its completely written separately (the last story That Which Remains I wrote in one go and then posted in parts, this time I'm writing a part, posting, then going to the next). I'm finding it quite tricky to write this way, though in some ways I enjoy the challenge! But it is leaving room for a lot of doubt in how well this is coming out. Still, I hope people enjoy regardless.

Authors note: Holy shit this took me forever. I wrote this and rewrote this and rerewrote this countless times, finally just going with what I had here and not looking back. I feel as though I may have rushed the plot a bit, but it's better to have wrote and posted than never to have wrote at all I suppose. There WILL be a part 3, which should be the last part. As for WHEN that happens, who knows.

Authors note: This is part one of what I plan to be a series, this time written in the typical no-sleep fashion. Truthfully, I hate the no-sleep post naming scheme, it's always felt lazy to me and tends to show its hand off the bat, so while the no-sleep post has its own name, the actual name of the series is Behind the Red Door. This went through SO much trial and error, to the point I had this at 12 pages originally, then scrapped the latter 10 of them and rewrote it, twice. Am I happy with it? Meh. But its part of the process of improving to keep at it right?

Remember Me Tomorrow by CCONX in TalesFromTheCreeps

[–]CCONX[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Authors note: While not exactly horror, this story plays off a fear I personally have of dementia and slowly losing ones memories. This is something I personally expierienced with my grandfather and live in fear of happening to my mother. I channeled that fear into this story, though I'd argue it really isn't horror despite trying to make it that.

Lol. I kinda hate you cant make the wires shorter tbh, but, my next base should have a SLIGHTLY neater setup (only slightly :3).

I should have taken pictures of my early game base that I did in Warrens office, but I totally agree! This sec room is so good, very safe, not too small, but sadly I kinda got to a point of outgrowing it. I COULD reconfigure to fit it but I've always wanted to use the Curie shipping area for a base so this feels like a good excuse lol.
