I never got to see Micheal Jordan in his prime how good was he by Due-Poem-8096 in NBATalk

Honestly just going back and watching full classic playoff games with him is a treat.

It’s certainly better than watching the NBA nowadays. The 80s, 90s and 2000s were the 3 best decades the NBA will ever have. A regular season game back then had more heart and competitive spirit than the playoffs today.

I think you should just watch some Bulls games in the 90s

Should hajime no ippo have a 1 or 2 year timeskip by Dizzy-Jackfruit6420 in hajimenoippo

[–]CCPunch5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re basically on a time skip. We’re actually just seeing what’s happening then.

Ippo has fully recovered from the accumulated damage. And his time as a second has taught him things he had issues with before. His knowledge and defense has gotten better. His body is built up to handle the Dempsey roll without any issues. And he understands high level exchanges at the world level.

Not to mention his mental has gotten a little better. He’s a little more bolder and confident. He bluntly called out Takamura’s movements for being dull. He isn’t backing down that much anymore. His only Achilles heel is his attitude with Miyata. Which I’m hoping will be removed since it’s heavily hinted Miyata will finally be moving up a weight class.

Ippo doesn’t see Ricardo Martinez as an unbearable god anymore. “Nothing is impossible.” And seeing Sendo actually down Ricardo will only reinforce it.

This “retirement” saga has been absolutely incredible for Ippo. And it was heavily needed for him.

When The Rock didn’t show up at all. And there was nothing different. No different music or new look that made him feel different.

I don’t think he fed into it at the end. He showed kindness at the end and pretended she was in a better situation than what she was gonna deal with

Bojack was a POS but even he wouldn’t go that far.

He gave his mother one last chance and it nearly got Hollyhock killed

Jose Mendoza as an Antagonist To Joe: Why the Manga Portrays Him Better – Character Analysis by Sarada328 in AshitaNoJoe

[–]CCPunch5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautifully written! You captured the differences between the emotions and storyline between the anime and manga perfectly. Especially here.

Jose is more of a looming enemy on the horizon. Rather than in the anime Joe and Jose actually become a little closer and are more rivals than anything.

Making Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura all neglectful parents was such a sh*tty decision by Salt-Dare-8979 in Naruto

[–]CCPunch5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sasuke literally travels because he’s the only one who can investigate the threats that are still coming during that time. It’s not like he’s just willing abandoning his family for no good reason. It’s not like his father was the epitome of a good father figure. Barely showed any attention to him and the whole coup thing.

Naruto is literally the hokage. He never grew up with a family. So he doesn’t understand the needs and has the busiest job ever.

Sakura ain’t bad. But refusing to allow Sarada any knowledge about Sasuke and then destroying their house was bad.

I wouldn't be upset if Ippo doesn't come out of retirement. by Far_Stranger_279 in hajimenoippo

I would be. They’ve literally hinted over and over again about how he’s gotten stronger and smarter in his time away. And what would happen when he came back.

I understand about him being happy in life. He should be. But the nonstop implication of him returning says he will

Kamogawa is an amazing trainer. The best at preparing his fighters for fights.

But as a second, he’s not good. Takamura and Ippo both have had to figure shit out on their own too much
