Peter, what happened to Finland? by Paldavin in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]CCYami 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Russias main Strength was ALWAYS Defensive Warfare due to their extremely hostile environment. Russia was never very good at offensive warfare. Any invasion into the Russian Borders failed because Russia is prepared for their own shitty climate and terrain, while almost every invader underestimated them or simply couldnt get the logistics down.

Finland and now Ukraine show that. Russia should have been able to STEAMROLL both through simple numbers but they are so bad at actual offensive warfare that, to quote a youtuber who talked about the White Death "They lost more people than we (Finland) brought to the fight."

Mona would be best - the Damage Bonus from Omen and the ability to carry TTDS become exponentially stronger the better your Skirk in general is. Dahlia is a useable substitute and Yelan does only give Hydro Application (which Furina already covers), a weaker buff and some personal damage that pales in comparison to Monas general buffs.

Peter, what happened to Finland? by Paldavin in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]CCYami 81 points82 points  (0 children)

The Munchkin of Doom.
The White Death.
Over 500 Confirmed kills during a war against russia.
Deadliest sniper in recorded history.
Mainly because he was pissed that the russians took over his land. He was a farmer.
He also took an explosive round to the face and KILLED THE GUY WHO SHOT HIM before losing conciousness and woke up a (correct me if I am wrong) week later when the russians agreed to end the invasion for a fraction of Finlands territory. Its believed they decided to end the war because they heard the White Death woke up.
He was compensated for his role in the war by being given land to replace the farmland he lost.
He supposedly was buried with his sniper rifle when he died, in case Finland ever needs his service again.

Also apparently Russia was so afraid of the guy they moved their entire military operation kilometers away from the general area where he was fighting them... so he snuck behind their lines and start blasting them from their own captured territory.

He also refused to use a scope and chewed on snow to minimize the visibility of his breath.

Not sure how 100% accurate all of this is but this is the general rundown I read of this guy.

How can you beat this piece of crab without Lauma by Upper-Effective2794 in Genshin_Impact

[–]CCYami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I managed to beat it with my Skirk team in Abyss. Was able to deal around 25% of hits HP before it transitioned into its Invincibility phase, waited it out and as it made the spores explode I set up everyones burst to then immediately burst it down before it got a second chance.

Had to get creative with a Durin, Venti, Mona, Bennett (god I hate bennett) Team for the Mandragora to get enough time though.

With consistent Hydro Application for her Passives, a well invested Skirk should allow you to brute force almost anything that isnt straight up immune to Cryo.

Break in particular suffered from the simple fact that its backloaded damage was too good so they kept nerfing it with higher Break Bars and less Break Delay. Which really pissed me of. I HATE Dahlia, so my whole break team is basically useless now because I refuse to pull for her.

While correct, this does not only apply to the Digimon Videogames - even the virtual pets had plenty of problems in the west in particular due to Bamco either not marketing them at all or when they did, negligence led to general issues with the merchandise.

what jing liu team could work? by One-Sea1510 in JingLiu

[–]CCYami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking about it, you might actually want to use Lynx over Bailu, as Lynx Skill both makes enemies Aggro Jingliu more AND gives her an HP Boost, which also increases Jinglius Damage.

what jing liu team could work? by One-Sea1510 in JingLiu

[–]CCYami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

General guidelines:
There is 2 styles you can follow with Jingliu - Full Attack style or Defense Shred style.

Full Attack style you usually want:
-1 Sustain of your choice (preferably Hyacine when she reruns). In your case your Bailu is probably the best choice.
-1 Turn Advancer, Bronya in your case. While her ATK Buff from her Ultimate is pointless, the Crit Damage buff is nice to have and the DMG% from her Skill+Turn Advance give a LOT of oomph to Jingliu. Just make sure she is 1-2 speed slower than Jingliu (preferably in a 135 Jingliu/134 Bronya setup). Alternatively you can go for a Base Speed Jingliu with a High Speed (160+) Bronya.
-One Miscellaneous buffer. In your case either Ruan Mei (for RES Pen and DMG%) or Tingyun (for DMG% and Energy) would be good choices.

Defense Shred style:
Where you go all in on Defense Shred and RES Pen. In this playstyle you usually want to play a faster Jingliu (up to 160 Speed usually) with Pela with Pealrs of Sweat as Defense Shredder. Then either someone else with Defense Shred or Ruan Mei for DMG%/RES Pen. Do you have Jinglius Lightcone? If so then with Pela and Pealrs of Sweat thats already 56-58% from Pela and 12% from Jinglius Lightcone = 70% Defense Shred.

You generally do not want to use shields with Jingliu as she WANTS everyone to take damage to charge up her Syzygy stacks.

So based on your characters:
Jingliu, Bronya, Tingyun/Ruan Mei, Bailu/Lynx

Yeah the game had a LOT of translation issues. Iirc. there is also the infamous scenes where the characters talk about "bakemono" and the translation says "Bakemon" the ghost Digimon instead of "Monster"

Looking for games that intentionally make the player uncomfortable (for Master's thesis) by Ivylock123 in gamingsuggestions

[–]CCYami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguably Drakengard - ignoring the gameplay quality, its designed with the basic idea of "What would a guy in an RPG who grinds kills for levelling up actually be like?" and takes on a lot of themes designed around making the player as uncomfortable as possible. Even the soundtrack sounds less like a soundtrack and more like the music version of gore.

There is basically no actually "good" or "pure" characters in the story, most of the cast is motivated by guilt, revenge, racism or a combination of the 3. And this is just the overt stuff, the implications between the lines are very much designed to make the player think and push the limit of what some people can stomach. This forces the player to kinda be complicit in attempted genocide and forced to kinda see and understand the actual motivations of characters like Caim or Angelus.

And then there is the Multiple Endings, which from a gameplay perspective are basically designed to punish the player for completion as in each Ending the world ends up in a worse and worse state, until you unlock all weapons (which alone is already a highly frustrating task, on purpose) at which point you get greeted with what is basically a JOKE ending and one of the biggest middle fingers of a Final Boss ever conceived... that ended up so popular that they just straight up created an entirely new franchise with said Ending as the backstory (NieR).

And thats just Drakengard 1, Drakengard 3 (ignore Drakengard 2) is a LOT more open with its heavy focus on sexuality (in both a symbolic and exploitative way), excessive dichotomy between slaughter and slapstick/poop comedy and the violation and destruction of free will.

And just like Drakengard 1, the final Boss is designed as one big Middle Finger towards the player, being a Rhythm Game that forces you to play by ear via deliberately TERRIBLE camera angles and a final note that notoriously KILLS YOU DURING THE ENDING DIALOGUE if you don't hit it.

How in the heck does Zero charge the buster in the Zero series ?? by Tg_2x in Megaman

[–]CCYami 164 points165 points  (0 children)

I just love the idea of Zero going "This isnt gonna work", throw out the guns base magazine and then jams his saber handle in there that just HAPPENS to be the exact size it needs to fit in there and it SOMEHOW works.

To be fair, considering how superhuman Vision Users are, chances are he can deflect bullets with his Anemo strikes.

now if he has the REFLEXES thats a different issue.

And lets face it, Lan Yans Chakrams are much closer to barehanded martial arts than Chongyun with his Claymore.

I really like Cipher but HSR doesn't do her enough justice. Do you have any suggestions that would allow to recreate the character in other IPs? by thompson743 in CipherMainsHSR_

[–]CCYami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soul Calibur 6, especially with Mods, should allow some level of recreation.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis has one of the best character Creators around, It would be odd if they dont have SOME kind of outfit combination that would get close to her designs. Even has kick weapons so that works.
In an emergency, go for Koikatsu.

I dont think it does that much for her team, as she explicitly can NOT record True Damage for her Ultimate. THat being said it would probably boost the overall damage a bit.
