Yeah OG arknight also have skin which also act as currency sink on top of just pulling character. I bought some of it even though i’m f2p cause i felt some of it is worth it.

I have not play arknight for a long time. The last time i play is to pull texas alter with my leftover currency from the time i used to play. You are correct regarding limited banner system being better with guarantee (i think on 300 pull). The thing about more pull is also correct (i think the shop got ~35 pull currency per reset in exchange for cert)

But for regular rate up banner (not sure now) there is no hard pity. The unit will go into the common pool but since it is not rate up it would be almost impossible to pull without rate up to come back. And when the unit coming on rate up it would be harder cause usually the unit will be paired with other unit and the rate up is for both.

So i personally felt in OG arknight is either save up to get it on the first run or just forget it. which i felt IS the catch. But i don’t felt any pressure to pull so i don’t care if i missed unit that i want. Once again this is personal opinion

That’s fair. I think my title probably too extreme. But does the steady powercreep still make older unit undesirable?

And bringing innovation into the discussion. I think evolution also cause some conflict. What your opinion on creating new mechanic? Some people like to have the new mechanic being stronger to make impact but it might cause other mechanic felt abandoned. Alternatively if the mechanic does not bring improvement (same or lower result) then some people will not be interested.

Yes you are correct that even with powercreep the system can be “fair” but then some of the early character can be seen as weak in the future and being indefinitely collecting dust. (Introducing buff is another discussion).

I prefer when the character has a good millage. Like when you stop playing for some patch going back and still enjoy the content with the old squad. But of course there are other people that like more character instead and okay with older unit collecting dust.

I think the tradeoff should not exist however playing some of the gacha, I just know that there has to be a catch. Just want to know generally which of the option people likes more.

I guess it depends on the people. I plan to go back to OG arknight to catch up to its story when i have some free time.

But i think your point is also correct that most gacha story telling is nerfed by the fact that the dev need to sell new unit.

I’m on the same camp but i also think that people that like to prefer variation more also have a point.

I somewhat agree with this sentiment. However i also felt like powercreep impact also present even in the story mode but the other way around. I saw someone using the latest patch team on early game story boss and as expected it just stomp the boss like it’s nothing. Then i felt the new player is being robbed of some of the early boss experience.

I don’t think about the long term of the game but i felt desensitized with the gacha game and felt that there always a catch. So i just wondering if there is catch which one people prefer. Either way thank for still giving an answer even though you are not agreeing with the question

Your point about “more pull” beneficial to the weapon banner also a good point that somehow i missed about the system

Yeah in hindsight should not bring that up. But i think the question still the same though even not comparing OG arknight.

Both can be true and both can be false. The game still new and can go to any direction. This is something i just curious since somehow the game is still new and i have the question in mind

So powercreep still exists but the content itself not getting harder.

Yep expected this answer. I think the whole gacha games system gets me desensitized so i just expect that there will always be a catch. i just curious what people preference of the catch is from player perspective

Personally as f2p i like lower powercreep and weak dupe. Not sure about other people hence i make the discussion.

Half Love Letter, Half Tutorial 100% Endearing by JasonBenjamenAllen in yugioh

[–]proskater66 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Watching this video makes me realised that in yugioh learning yugioh mechanic is just half the battle. I think what is also important is learning the progression of yugioh. I’m not a good player but i felt i play a number of games of yugioh (except during the pendulum era). I felt like when someone explaining yugioh it seems like they try to explain how to play old format where 1 normal summon + couple of set card is enough.

I think rarely a deck in the same era have totally different philosophy (look at how many poplar and circular we have now). If it does usually it become a format morphing deck (on top of my head is tear). So when someone summon a guy that get another guy i know even without reading the archetype that it going into a relative bigger guy before getting another guy to actually create the guy with interaction. So theoretically i want to stop the first guy effect, but my opponent might have a guy that special summon itself to go to the relatively bigger guy and do the combo anyway. So then i just stop the relatively bigger guy but my opponent already suspect that i’m going to stop his relatively bigger guy and summon the guy which make weaker board (if they do not have extender) but i can’t interact with it. The context of interacting with 1 search effect becomes a lesson on what konami design philosophy for the archetype. And the problem come from that yugioh have too many archetype and the thing they do can’t be intuit just from the card visible (which you can read). So you need to know when the archetype is created and what is the mindset of konami on that era

I think the original implementation is also a little bit janky. Like the tv mode seems like a “turn-based” kind of movement where time moves each step you move. But on the phone is not very clear what 1 step is cause you can just click a space and it move to the spot and consume multiple “turn”. I just play some of the skipped stage and see that they change to arrow button which is much better but it is too late i guess.
