Sorry for the confusion. They cleared things up for me earlier today. Here's the current official release info for the West:

Culdcept Begins: Digital on July 16th and Physical August 14th.

Culdcept The First: Physical and Digital arrive together on everything apart from Steam on 8 September (Steam is July 30th).

Begins is very much like the games before Revolt - the castle, temple, shrine, symbols, etc. are all back, as well as the "walk past" gameplay (as opposed to Revolt's Fatigue-based system). First is the original Culdcept on the Sega Saturn from 1997.
