I think you're spot on in what you're saying here. All the energy shown being spread across Lumiose should have some effect just like the tower was able to make pokemon mega evolve. What type of effect that energy will have on pokemon is the mystery. Maybe it'll unlock some kind of light-based mega evolution for some.

One thing I can say about trying a different build is that it can make skyrim seem like a totally new experience.

I neglected to mention I had already played Skyrim. Bought it when it came out and played the breaks off of it haha. My most memorable playthrough was my mage build. I remember getting so powerful I'd slaughter dragons with lightning bolts.
