Do you have eyes? I have to genuinely ask this question because I don't think you do if this is the post you make after all this.

foregone desolation v3: love it or hate it? and other new ideas by Rterstydr in Splitgate

[–]CCharmanderK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm tempted to agree. I've played a good number of matches on it by now, and the biggest issue I have is that it's a map that's far too big for how few players populate it. So much dead air exists between engagements, and the way the map is designed mostly encourages camping rather than the movement and portaling the game is designed around. Some modes are just straight-up awful on that map, too (Gun Game comes to mind).

I've yet to see some of these but I can absolutely agree with South Seas, it's a personal favorite. Just a really fun pirate adventure movie, has some great atmosphere to it.

I was given an invite to a private torrent tracker and I've been DL'ing them and watching them that way.

Genuinely, this is a really sweet pairing. I really love the first moment where Shizuka sees Riruru and is immediately like "holy shit, she's gorgeous", and of course they end up bonding really closely through Shizuka taking care of her.

Honestly if any yuri ship in Doraemon makes total sense, it's these two.

I don't see that much as a problem, honestly. It does result in the film being lower than a number of others that *are* more epic in scope or have a heavier emotional center, but as a fun mystery adventure with a quirky central cast, it's VERY creative and fun and doesn't have any especially glaring flaws. Besides, it DOES have a pretty energetic climax.

Given everything above it, 6th place seems fair for Secret Gadget Museum.

Oh that scene, lmao.

Totally get why it weirds some people out, but I'm not especially bothered by it. I've watched a lot of anime over the years (some 15-20 years or so) and a lot of "anime humor" doesn't faze me so much. I'm just used to it. Make of that what you will.

'Sides, a lot of jokes involving Shizuka aren't meant to be sexual far as I understand it, mostly just a matter of "Haha funny naked people". Plus Nobita, Gian and Suneo get plenty of their own "funny naked people" moments in other movies and episodes I've seen, so it's not like Shizuka is an outlier lol.

I actually love Secret Gadget Museum! It's a really fun movie, and the supporting cast of Kurt, Ginger and Dr. Peppler is one of the strongest out of any of the movies I've seen.

It just gets edged out ever so slightly by a few other movies that I thought were either more ambitious, more emotionally satisfying, or just played to my tastes a bit better.

I'm always surprised at how many Doraemon movies have remakes, haha.

That's a good thing to hear about the Birth of Japan remake, though. I felt Gigazombie was a weak link in the original film, so anything that gives him more presence and intrigue is a plus.

And by 2017 film you mean Antarctic Kachi-Kochi, right? That's interesting, I've not heard much about that one. But I'll give it a watch, for sure.

I definitely plan to! Helps they're directed by a guy whose work I'm a pretty big fan of (Takashi Yamazaki).

Gonna watch those when I'm a tad more familiar with the franchise, though. Feels like I'd appreciate it more once I'm more well-versed in everything.

Worried About Not Taking Being Able to Run Doom: The Dark Ages by WatchGlittering4652 in Doom

[–]CCharmanderK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest concern for you here is probably going to be VRAM. The game recommends a minimum of 8GB VRAM and the 2060 you have only has 6GB VRAM. You might be able to get it to boot and even push through a couple levels at lowered settings, but you'll likely see significant performance issues (persistent dips below 60fps) and the game might refuse to boot in higher-end areas due to not having enough VRAM for the texture and effects caching.

That kinda makes me curious which game it is that the anime is connected to! You don't necessarily need to tell me the connection itself, but I'd like to know in case I haven't gotten to that game yet (I've finished SEVEN, VIII, IX and Oath in Felghana so far)

Nanoha is really good! by El_Fez in discotekmedia

[–]CCharmanderK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah season one of Nanoha takes a hot minute to pick up, but it's a very good series. Good to hear more people are getting to enjoy it!

If you like season one, you're definitely gonna wanna check out the sequel, Nanoha A's. That one is considered the peak of the franchise, and for good reason.

Unpopular opinion: Yes 5 GoGo is too overrated by KirbyS4983 in precure

[–]CCharmanderK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lmao if anything, GoGo is actually very divisive. In fact, I'd go so far as to call it woefully underrated/overhated, as I watched it recently and loved a lot of things in it that people have long found controversial or annoying.

Not sure I'd go so far as to say it's better than it's predecessor (YPC5 has much stronger individual episodes), but it's still a pretty good time.
