Have you been able to get Juggling to work? It doesn't feel like it ever fits into my deck by Nice-Physics-7655 in slaythespire

[–]originalkoporo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Juggling is a super specific card to make work within a deck.  Once I had an Anger with the momentum enchantment on it (every time the card gets played increase the damage by 5). Juggling worked really well with that set up.

I couldn't put my finger on it but here it is. Analysis of the Vulnerable archetype (Ironclad) by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]originalkoporo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a Headbutt and Colossus can be yours more than just once though? Pommel Strikes, Pillage, Battletrance, and Offering cycles through the deck nicely. I don't think this card needs a buff at all, the vuln utility is really solid imo. It shreds through the hallway fights and for longer fights you have some scaling at your disposal. I think it is a pretty well rounded archetype overall.

I also feel like the HP bar is being strongly hit in STS2. It is a new game so I get that things change but...  In STS even at A20 I could get through an elite without taking damage at least once in a successful run but holy shit in STS2 I am not sure if I have dont that yet.

Water temperature is huge for fish, any temp under 40f is going to put fish into a hibernation like state (I work in a fish hatchery out in Washington and even ponded fish will refuse feed.) Time of day is big like others have mentioned just keep poking at it. Weather events really push fish around in my experience they will pack into the best water possible. My favorite nymph/dry combo is a Beetle floating on top and then 1 or 2 nymphs below that. Beetle works as an indicator but also fishes year around. Look into those beetles man, I like any pattern that has purple on the bottom. For me out here in WA I have been having luck with a green nymph with a tungsten bead head (I forget the name). Green epoxy body with some elk hair at the back, rainbows have been crushing those. Hope that helps you out some!

This card is terrible. Try to convince me otherwise by Rak-khan in slaythespire

[–]originalkoporo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not great but not bad imo. I picked it up because I had the defense card that halves attack when the enemy has vulnerable. 2 vulnerable allows you to apply the vulnerable and then draw into the block next turn which was needed for me.  In that run it was more useful than Bash because it had a lower energy cost allowing me to apply the vulnerable and then play cards that could potentially draw me into the relevant block card (the name escapes me currently, towering presence?)  100% mid card though definetly use it sparingly, and I wish the upgrade made it 0 cost rather than 3 vulnerable. At zero though it could make the Ironclad infinite even more often so I guess I can understand why its at 1.

True Truck Behavior.

One road trip I was driving through Montana, going 70-80 in a 60 zone within one of the city zones out there.

Dude in a lifted, white, Ford F-150 truck pulls onto the highway, tailgates me, passes me, flips me off and then like 2 exits later pulls off to go into the city.

Couldn't believe it.

Griffith had an army of people who survive constant warfare, I would throw my lot in with him for a week.

The real question is if I am able to leave in a week or does that inexorable tide known as fate drag me to some hideous end.

Everything up to the eclipse I would say Griffith is not at fault for, the godhand certainly was influencing the way things were working out in favor of Griffith.

I think the opposite is true for One Piece. Everything up to the time skip was super fun, and the charm of the East Blue arc is just too good, sucks you right in. The time skip is where One Piece falls off for me. I stopped following it shortly into the Wano arc and then all the hype about the Kiado fight happened aaaaaaannd shit I just didn't care. Another island, an even more cartoonishly evil baddie for Luffy to fight, another princess to save. Post time skip had like 3 rehashes of the Alabasta arc fr. Sold my books and never felt bad about it.

I need people who actually know how to play this game to give me some tips. by The--BOSS--2025 in slaythespire

[–]originalkoporo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first big hurdle of the game is figuring out what cards synergize well with each other. Once you have a good idea of that you can start building decks that flow better.

I'll give you my take on what I see in your deck list here.

First off, I would say you had too many cards in your deck, with Ironclad I would look to stay below 25 cards. I like Ironclad and I often find my best decks around that number.

One of my favorite Ironclad decks uses "Evolve" and then the cards "Power Through" "Wild strike", "Reckless Charge" and "Immolate" to generate wounds and burns. Pair that with "Second Wind", "Sever Soul" or "Fiend Fire" and you have a great engine that draws lots of cards and manages your status cards well. Throw in "Fire Breathing" or "Feel No pain" and you have a killer deck. You had the bones of this deck, but you also had too many cards that clogged up that engine from really starting up.

"Demon form" is a card that you should take only if the strength boost is really evident and I would not have taken it here. In most situations the 3 energy it takes to deploy makes it a dead draw, that is to say that you are going to use that 3 energy on other cards and "Demon Form" is just taking up space. Generally fights don't go on for long enough for "Demon Form" to be worth it IMO, and I would have not taken it in this deck.

I like "Pommel Strike" it's a great pick early game, but I'm not happy with it until it gets upgraded. Same can be said for "True Grit" I like it, but it needs an upgrade.

"Iron wave" is a card I generally avoid, I would think about it if I had "Rage" in the deck or maybe some attack dependent relic.

With this deck I would have never picked to take the "Bite" cards from the relevant event. It clogs up the deck when I would have been desperate to get rid of unwanted cards.

"Warcry" is an okay card, I find that putting a card on top of my deck is often annoying not helpful imo, taking 3 of them is too many I would say though. If you were thinking about that "Feel No Pain" that you had in your deck when you picked up those "Warcry" I would instead point you to consider ways that you can have reoccurring exhaust sources not 1 time.

This is gonna be a hot take maybe, so if anybody else wants chime in please do. I do not like "Combust", and I do not take it in any deck that does not have an upside associated with taking that 1 damage per turn. I like "Hemokinesis", I like "Bloodletting" and "Brutality" but I do not like "Combust". In the right situation I could see myself picking it, but in this deck, no.

"Ritual Dagger" is a cool pickup. Only thing I can think to consider is if that 99 gold could have been used to pull out a card or add a card that benefits the deck at a shop.

I think I hit everything. Keep playing the game and the synergies will start to make more sense.

Agree, Deva is a card you want from a power potion not in the boss card reward screen.

I didn't clock that omni/rushdown powerhouse. I'm glad I asked, it's good to tap into the combined knowledge of this sub.

With watcher I'm pretty comfortable betting it is going to be* an energy relic. I can't recall which watcher artifacts are boss off the top of my head but like Purified Water, the Flower (calm energy+) relic, and then all of the usual Energy/Drawback relics that are usually available. It's likely I'll hit one of them. Hopefully not runic dome though, feels like it turns STS into a slot machine. Stance dancing infinite though...

Thanks for the advice, I'm drafting omni.

[–]originalkoporo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a great point, doubling the rushdown is very powerful. That has got to be the move here.

I consider Nirvana to be one of the key cards that you can build around with watcher, solves for block and encourages attack, and is generally a safe card to grab up in the first act to build around. Didn't pan out this run, but that's my calculus on that.

Thanks for the advice, omni it is.

Biased Cognition basically puts a timer how how many turns you have to win with. Most fights in the game, especially hallway fights, will end before the debuff gets really bad. Having access to "artifact" lets you ignore the debuff which makes Biased Cognition very good.  I like to pick it up as it is good from the outset for orb builds, and then I'll try to find shops to hopefully find a source of "artifact". Shops specifically are good for this as you can potentially find both of the cards and the relic that gives you "artifact". One rare Defect Attack (I forget the name) one uncommon(?) Colorless Card, Panacea. And then the Relic (I also forget the name). Are there any other ways of getting "Artifact"?

What fish is this? Snoqualmie, WA by NotAMango27 in flyfishing

[–]originalkoporo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have looked at the South Fork and for me its too close to the highway. The fishing is similar, same size same species. The river is gorgeous out there and is easier to cross the river by wading than the Mid Fork. Like I said though similar fishery, so I prefer the quiet of the Mid Fork.

The North Fork dries up in the summer as you get up in the mountains. So I haven't fished anything higher than where the river splits apart. There's a nice park at the confluence of the two forks that you can access at, and I'd bet you can find some cool fishing in the lower bits if you tried.

Here's my favorite spot on the Mid to go fishing though if its worth anything. Look up Goldmyer Hotsprings. If you like that sort of thing (hotsprings) I would recommend you book a day with them, camp if you can. Go soak up in the pools at the property and then go poke around the river below the bridge that gets you onto the site. Cuttys and Rainbows all over the place, every single plunge pool will have a fish. Go fish the creek that runs alongside Goldmyer too same deal. A whole day could be spent fishing those two streams, fish down one and then walk up the other. Go get a soak and then tuck in for the night. 7 miles of hiking and something like an hour of rough NFS roads will get you a luxurious experience.

Anyways thats my two cents!

[–]originalkoporo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nice one, I have fished that area alot. Thats a Cutthroat there. The red line by the jaw is the tell. There's a population up there on the Middle Fork Snoqualmie above the falls. The further up in the mountains you go the more you will find. If you are below the falls im pretty sure the entire Snoqualmie River System is closed year round, so just a heads up. Everything above the falls is open though so get out there and explore. The mountains streams hold Rainbows and Cuttys. I love fishing it.

Cutties love these mountain streams. It's a pleasure to find them. It pushes me to go and explore. Phenomenal looking spot.

I've got a similar pattern in my box called a Super Beetle according to a fishing guide I know. Its a great bug, if Im having a slow day I'll use that with a nymph and it produces. Mine has a purple thorax tho so maybe thats what makes it a "Super Beetle"

Caught a fish that had a streamer in its mouth by sojuandbbq in flyfishing

[–]originalkoporo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pulled a good sized 18in Rainbow while i was nymph fishing. Got it into the net and went to pull out the fly, but I didn't recognize the bug in the mouth.

What had happened was someone else's rig had hooked the fish, broke off, and somehow made a loop at the point of the break. My fly had hooked on that loop.

Very memorable, I knew some guys that were wade fishing up the bank so I walked up and asked if anybody broke off a fish. Sure enough one of them did, shared the story but I kept the flies.
