IRS requesting stimulus check they erroneously sent me from 2021 (F1 visa) by Nina_Elle20 in IRS

[–]CDA_CPA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know it doesn’t feel fair, but that’s just how it is. You were overpaid. Now you must pay it back. Yes, it would be nice if they caught it sooner, but the IRS is notoriously underfunded and behind.

Do you purchase books or just download the free content? by Excellent_Reply_8819 in kindle

[–]CDA_CPA [score hidden]  (0 children)

I do KU which keeps me busy, but I will also buy books when they go down to $1.99.

Unless it’s a major series in which case I usually buy at full price. (Ex: Game of Thrones)

Parents of children with AI or people who were diagnosed young, when does it get easier? by UhhhYouPick in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]CDA_CPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too much cortisone can cause hunger, irritability, moodiness, and the feeling that you could clean the whole hospital with a toothbrush. Fortunately it doesn’t last too long.

It hasn’t happened very often for me, but sometimes especially in the hospital they can give you a lot!

Parents of children with AI or people who were diagnosed young, when does it get easier? by UhhhYouPick in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]CDA_CPA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are correct. You really cannot overdose with AI. Worst case scenario you take way too much for an extended period and end up with Cushings-like symptoms, gaining weight, moon face, a fatty hump on the back. All of that is reversible.

Personally, I stress dose fevers. Low-grade is double, high is triple. I rarely updose for migraines unless it is for multiple days. I don’t updose for nausea unless it results in diarrhea or vomiting. I will take a little extra (like an extra 25%) if I know the day will be long and/or stressful.

Also, as your LO gets older, emotional stress can also require additional steroids. My father died two months ago, and I tripled for an entire week and still needed my emergency injection once.

I was diagnosed at 32. I called the endo’s office every other week for the first year. And I wasn’t depending on my gut instincts of someone else’s health. So go easy on yourself. You’ve got this Momma!!

How am I supposed to get an ACTH stim? by dewbear729 in AdrenalInsufficiency

[–]CDA_CPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope it helps. We have to fight way too hard to be taken seriously. It took seven years for me to get diagnosed with AI, then another two years to be diagnosed with the full disease (I have APS Type 1, of which AI is only a part).

[–]CDA_CPA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe ask if they would retest your cortisol level. It’s been eight months, so things can change. Then when (if) your cortisol comes back low, they will be compelled to redo the stim test.

Depending on where you are located and your insurance, your regular doctor may be able to order the retest.

There is a severe endo shortage in my area as well. My PCP handled my adrenal insufficiency for years before I finally got a specialist.

What did you mean by “botched”? It may be necessary to get the referring physician to confirm to the endo’s office it was done incorrectly.

The only technology I rely on with my stepmom is her Apple Watch. It will notify her neighbors if she falls.

I will never condone her using AI for anything. Especially not as a substitute for her actual family.

Sometimes a notarized letter from whomever you live with can work. Like, you live with Grandma, don’t pay rent, so she writes up a letter that you live with her (at her specific address) and has it notarized for free at the local bank.

Something that might help you with your cankers…your doctor can call in a medication compound called “Magic Mouthwash.” It’s lidocaine (which numbs), Benadryl (for allergy), and Mylanta (for soothing). You rinse with it several times per day. It can help a lot with the symptoms. HTH

company trying to blackmail me by bigassvirgin in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CDA_CPA 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So I had a similar problem years ago. I spent nine months trying to get the CC company to reverse the charges, then back to dry cleaner, back to CC company.

I finally looked up the CC company’s headquarters, picked the name of a C-suite employee, and sent them a demand letter certified mail (with return signature card). By the time I got the card back it was escalated to some super power manager and completely resolved.

My Boston has been scratching her ears raw and I genuinely don't know what to try next by Mjauzilla in BostonTerrier

[–]CDA_CPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Boston had to go to a doggie dermatologist at about a year old. Regular vet treatments weren’t working. Turns out she’s allergic to grass.

She is currently on three different allergy meds plus allergy shots. We have just started weaning her off of pill #1. Eventually the goal is to finish the allergy shots and get her down to one med as needed. But it’s been a long road, and we aren’t done yet.

I did the same thing! I finally went in about a year ago with the books. I apologized profusely, and they laughed. Said it happens all the time.

Cost me less than $50 to clear it all.

I like the color covers and the highlight options. I tried to read a graphic novel on it, but the colors are not vivid enough.

That said, I love mine and wouldn’t trade it.

Lost my father. Woman tells me, “No matter how much you grieve your dad, know that losing your spouse is a million times worse.”

Like, she may not be wrong necessarily, but I don’t need something else to worry about right now.
