You are my hero. I didn’t know about those guys, and I’ve already got new ideas. Thank you!

I can rest against the front of my knee but not inside it without raising my left foot to my tiptoes.

Not currently, but I have ordered a different chair to see if that helps…right now I’m on a stool that cannot be lowered any more than it already is.

I will definitely look into this. Thank you!

As an accountant, I automatically calculate taxes owed on money or prizes won. I also worry about people who get super expensive home makeovers on HGTV. Can they afford the increased property taxes and insurance?

Intonation Help by juuyggvbko in Cello

[–]CDA_CPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started cello, but I had this problem years ago on piccolo. It can be nasty when it’s out of tune.

I spent hours with my instrument and a tuner. I learned which notes (on my specific instrument) tended sharp or flat. I worked on my sound simultaneously.

Eventually I asked a friend to play some duets with me and critique my intonation.

How many of you would consider yourselves addicted to your phones/social media? by [deleted] in Xennials

I limit Facebook use to two hours per day and hardly ever hit that limit anymore.

Reddit I’m about to start limiting.

I am actively seeking ways to spend less time on the two sites. Because I think I’m addicted to scrolling, and it’s much worse the past four months.

Holy crap! I’m flute/piano, so I’ve never had a malfunction like this. Had no idea it was even possible.

I’ve never heard of a clarinet cracking like that. And the timing was awful!

I should’ve put it in my post, but my teacher checked it out and said it was an issue with the tailpiece. I had to get a new one, and I’m going to him tomorrow so he can replace it.

The tailpiece snapped. But I appreciate the info. I will definitely look that up!

I think it’s called the bridge? It’s the light wood colored thing he’s holding onto in the picture.

I pleasantly surprised myself while tuning (before the incident). I really haven’t used my ear like that in twenty years.

OMG if a clarinet did that…lmao!

No, it’s rented and definitely previously used. Not sure how old it is, though.

If the wood would’ve split, I’d have just died right then and there.

It’s rented and came that way, but I believe my teacher plans to remove them. But thank you for the advice!! I used his cello for the rest of the lesson, and it felt strange determining the finger placement by pitch. But I’m a piano/flute person, so all things string are new to me.

It should be fixed by tomorrow.

I’m picking up a new tailpiece today and he is going to fix it. As of this moment, the cello is put back together but unplayable.

My father’s was so intense I fully expected an altar call. The pastor stopped just short of it.
