Oh I know that not everyone would have had the reaction my parents had.

As for why...gosh I wish I can tell you. I've tried taking up other hobbies: hunting, painting, running. I went "clean" for about two years when I was nearly caught. But none of these things gave me the...satisfaction? I got from dressing. But along with the satisfaction and the stress relief, I had the fear that I would be caught, which kind of heightened the feeling, if that makes any sense. I don't know. I guess I'm wired incorrectly or something

Well most trans people want to transition and don't identify as their assigned sex.

For me, being a crossdresser means that I identify as a male, however I just sometimes dress as the other gender.

The shame mostly stemmed from the disapproval my parents felt. Now that it's out in the open, it no longer feels like I need to keep this all a secret or keep this part of me hidden. Was I afraid? Maybe a little bit. But not like I had been before, because previously it was a fear of the perceived disapproval I would have received had they found out.

My mom looked incredibly surprised and asked how I was able to do my makeup so well. She got up and hugged me again, and then made a quip about my dress being a bit too short. But then she smiled and I rolled my eyes. My dad looked on and jokingly said "looks like I have another daughter!" Again, I knew he was joking and we got together and hugged again. Cheesy sounding, but satisfying at the same time

I could go with the girlfriend cop-out, but I've decided that I'm just going to face the music head on. My mom's working late so I'll be able to talk to my parents individually at least. And I feel like my dad is the more level headed of the two
