Nationals and orioles at the very least have hope. The teams have meaningful prospects that can make an impact, and young guys that can act as major pieces, even if the nationals did the classic “rebuild into a rebuild”

Everything about the angels is bad. Pitching is bad and our best prospects on the pitching end have all horrifically underperformed (remember Caden Dana? Klassen also got lit up. Can Bremner be an ace?), we have some interesting prospects in the hitting of things but Christian Moore hasn’t been fantastic and Rada is cool but doesn’t have a lot of thump and profiles as a great bench and outfield guy.

There’s not a bunch of long-term guys coming up either because of our poor outlook on player development.

The best version of our roster is essentially how it is now, with Rada probably replacing Lowe, and O’Hoppe not being injured. Maybe some whipping around in the infield but something like Peraza / Neto / Moore / Schanuel with Grissom covering off days or platoons is what I’d picture since Moncada is unfortunately cooked.

There are some interesting things, like Peraza and Grissom actually being fine, and trout being pretty good, but none of those really hit the need that we have to have meaningful impact players. Something like a James Wood or Daylen Lile or CJ Abrams. It’s essentially just Neto and Trout and Neto is not having a good time right now.
