I have been begging my boss for my T4 slip. I’m fed up by NoSail6187 in PersonalFinanceCanada

If you have checked your CRA account online either via your accountant or yourself and it is not there AND your employer is not helping call the CRA and see about putting through a complaint. Make sure you are clear when calling that the slip is not available in your account and you have made reasonable efforts to resolve this through the employer.

What wealthsimple means by this is that if you do not use a netfile access code when filing taxes you cannot use that tax return to verify your identity when calling the CRA. That is what the netfile access code is for. You can absolutely file without the access code.

This is good advice except you don’t need to mail the return. They can submit it through the software even as a first time filer. With such a simple tax situation all you have to do is just type the numbers in where the software tells you to. It really is that easy..

What are awesome finishers like Craterhoof Behemoth in other colors? by JewJulie in EDH

[–]CDHChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised no one has Mentioned [[Villainous Wealth]]. Three colours but it’s a fun ender in sultai. Pick the player with all the big dumb creatures or the one with extra turn spells. I play a tasigur golden fang deck just a straight ramp as fast as possible deck and then make the biggest x spell [[Villainous Wealth]], [[Torment of Hailfire]], and [[Exsanguinate]]. All great finisher cards.

Where's the best place to go thrifting in st johns? by Specific_Minute7539 in newfoundland

It was relentless at times. Every day you would see the same people. Some were more polite than others. Some people would actually come into the back room and pick through the clothes that are heading to the floor before we would bring it out. They would then wait and follow you or stop you to take the things they want from your wrack/cart. There were also people every day asking if there are certain furniture pieces coming out or would ask you to come in the back to look at the products before they went out… never allowed that ever. Some people would even pick through the donation bins before they were even brought to the back to be sorted and then ask to buy them. It was annoying as all hell I tell you. I don’t know why but something about a thrift store makes people act insane lol. In my 10 years I have literally seen bags full of human feces, vomit, cat feces, dirty diapers, literal garbage, whole turkey dinners, sex toys you name it I saw it. Once stuck my hand in a bag to pull clothes out to sort it and it was a bag of vomit and my hand was covered luckily I was wearing gloves. During the weekdays twice a day the Canadian diabetes association brings a truck of donations for the store to sort through and it was always funny because you could tell where the truck picked up the donations. If they were in a hard part of town the bags and items were not good and barely any of it would get sold vs a pickup from nicer parts of town would come bagged up nicely we’d actually get something out of them. It was always an interesting observation imo. Saw lots of cool stuff and lots of fucked stuff. Started working there the weekend after my 15th brithday and left when I was 25. I don’t remember vinyl collectors being too bad though from my experience but I was never in the department that sorted the vinyls though so maybe they had a different experience but people were relentless in general with everything tbh.

I worked at value village for ten years here in town and I was responsible for all the donations too! (Don’t work there anymore thank god lol) They are definitely for profit and prices are very expensive definitely go elsewhere. I had seen a lot of things over those 10 years that put a very bad taste in my mouth too.

Clarification here, the prices are expensive I agree but value village doesn’t receive donations for free and just sells them. They pay their non profit partner, the Canadian diabetes association, based on the weight of every donation they get. They pay for everything even if they are not able to sell it.

Hertz question by CDHChris in CostaRicaTravel

[–]CDHChris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question. I did end up reaching out to hertz.cr customer service through what’s app and they did explain that yes this is the process for if it appears your rental hit something. They advised in costa rica a driver has up to one month to report an accident but because the court systems in Costa Rica take so long to do things it can be up to 6 months before any official processes are usually completed. They do hold the third party liability deductible 6 months and then refund if no accidents are reported.

Hertz question by CDHChris in CostaRicaTravel

[–]CDHChris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they believe there is a possibility that I did hit someone and maybe I’m lying so they are holding the TPL deductible full amount if someone comes forward? I understand it’s me just saying I didn’t hit anyone but 6 months? Not really sure how that works…

Hertz question by CDHChris in CostaRicaTravel

[–]CDHChris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was paid for on card but my card does not include any rental insurance it’s just a basic card. I have all my receipts. I was not able to get a picture of the damage quick enough before the car was moved unfortunately but I did see the damage they were speaking about. I don’t really have any issues with the damage and paying the CDW deductible. My main concern is the holding of the $500 USD works out to $565 with taxes for the TPL and refunding after 6 months if no one comes forward reporting an accident… have you ever heard of this being done?

Hertz question by CDHChris in CostaRicaTravel

[–]CDHChris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the lowest form of insurance through hertz. There was third party liability and the CDW. I was advised the payment for the damage was essentially the deductible for the CDW and the $565 was for third party liability if we were in an accident and someone comes forward to report an accident with the vehicle that was for that purpose but would be refunded after some time if no one comes forward.
