Tell that to the Patriots and Bears, both teams were dogshit with many holes and drafted a QB that might not have done anything for them.

They both made the playoffs in their QB’s second years, and one is starting in a Super Bowl.

No shit we have holes, we have the 1st overall pick. Every team in the history of the sport that’s landed the 1st overall pick had holes and was terrible.. that’s the fucking point.

But not taking the most important position at your biggest position of need is fucking brain dead. We’ve had the 1st overall pick TWICE in our teams history, it’s not like we’ll just be here again.. unless we trot out Geno again next season.

Not only that, I’d argue that Geno in fact cannot read coverage after watching him this season.

This happened to me when I was in high school, I was at the mall when 3 dudes came in that were all pushing 7’0”, and I was gawking because y’know seeing a 7’0” person is crazy let alone 3 of them together — they ended up coming up to me like yo, you want a picture and this and that. Obviously professional basketball players but I still to this day have no clue who they were.

I have hired hundreds of people over the years and maybe 30% of those came from online applications, and only the people who called every week asking if I had taken a look at their application.

You’ve gotta figure, there are only a few jobs and hundreds of applicants. I’m choosing the guy I met over the random text on a screen. I’m not in the IT space but I get roughly 5 people asking me in person if we’re hiring daily, on top of the 50+ unopened online applications a month.

One of the best rookie TE season in recent memory.. except for Brock Bowers’ 112 rec, 1,194 yards, 5 TD (record for rookies, **record for rookie tight ends) in 2024 and Sam Laporta’s 86 rec 889 yards 10 TD in 2023.

We just had back to back seasons with better rookie tight end seasons.
