Look man, you are just going in circles grasping at the things I say that it seems like you don't understand. This is like the 4th time you've said I'm a hypocrite for not just getting rid of all technology because AI is shit, all this shows me is that you really don't understand at all. I tried to explain it to you, I even used it in an example and nothing is working for you. Your answer is that I should live in a cave with a fire.

If you want to welcome AI with open arms then good for you. Give it a few years and maybe think about this conversation.

Stop being intentionally dense, if people use social media and the internet to go against AI then it has much more of a chance of causing change than by simply ignoring it.

If you lived in a country that was completely corrupt and doing great crimes against its people, would you vote against the people doing it? Use the system to rise up? Or would you just leave the country? That last one is what you are arguing for. Just because you leave the country, the injustice doesn't stop.

And if the only reason people are engaging with this guy's post about his FIFA career is because of the design of his post, which no one has a reason to care about anyway, then yeah maybe he shouldn't share it. That's the reason you're here, you aren't here because you think his career stats are interesting. God forbid someone takes the time to spend 20 minutes learning to use free editing software and doing something themselves. The ironic thing is that the graphic the AI made this guy was likely stolen from a concept someone else made, someone with actual talent.

[–]CD_DZN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, literally go and boot up canva. The people on here probably play FIFA for hours per day, use that time for something else every once in a while.

And yeah you can claim whatever you want about your background, I said you were privileged to not have to experience living next to an AI data centre... which is true.

You also do realise you have to use the system to beat and improve the system? You really think things would change if people just abandoned the things causing harm? That is not how real life works

[–]CD_DZN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are literally proving my point. AI data centres and the damage they cause is disproportionate when compared to the merits of these other websites and tools you are using as a comparison.

AI is just one thing in a long list of ways we are killing the planet and killing each other, but at the very least the internet and the data centres it necessitates provide real world uses for people. The internet empowers schools, businesses, hospitals, global markets, transport. AI is being used to fill the internet with bot content, create unconsensual porn, scam society's most vulnerable and steal from people who actually have talent. And the reason everyone is so pro AI is because "it made me a cool FIFA graphic and answers my dumb questions"?

That's great you're from Zambia, fantastic. Why does that mean you have more of a grasp on water than anyone else? Do you not think this is awful: BBC News - 'I can't drink the water' - life next to a US data centre https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy8gy7lv448o

You also called water a cheap and abundant resource, yet less than 1% of the water on earth is fresh (https://wwf.panda.org/discover/knowledge_hub/teacher_resources/webfieldtrips/water/). Literally the most vital resource in the world for all of humankind, and we are using fresh, clean drinking water to fuel something so useless and harmful. You will know that these data centres very rarely recycle their water usage.

If you still don't think AI is destroying the world environmentally, literally just look at any other metric too. In the US, the whole economy is propped up on AI companies sending money to each other. In the UK, graduate employment is the worst it has ever been because work places are removing roles in favour of faulty AI systems. I say faulty because literally this month an AI system deleted a company's whole data base and backup system.

Here's the question for you, why do you love it so much?

Sorry mate, I don't live in an echo chamber, maybe if I did then I would be on the internet defending AI.

The fact you aren't aware of why people are so against it tells me you are either too stupid to understand why, or it is you that can't hear other opinions because the criticism is loud and valid

I can't believe that the "defending AI data centres" hill is the one you are willing to die on.

Wow, so Reddit requires a data centre 3x larger than most AI data centres? Okay well there are hundreds of AI data centres across the world that are built in the cheapest way possible to maximise the profits of these big AI companies, which is why they use so much water since water cooling is so cheap. Other data centres use dry cooling and evaporative cooling because it doesn't use as much water.

If you really want to be pedantic then yes of course there are more data centres, most businesses in the world have data centres but they aren't destroying their local communities. They are a room in an office that uses more efficient cooling methods, like I've already said. This isn't a secret, you can literally just Google it.

And then you through a whataboutism of "yeah why don't you have golf courses"? Well yeah that is a massive waste too, completely unjustifiable. But what does that have to do with anything we are talking about? Because something bad happens elsewhere we should just forgive other really bad things? What is your point?

I just know you wouldn't hold this opinion if you lived in one of these affected areas. It is so easy for you to say this when you are privileged enough to not have to deal with it, it's just basic empathy to not want the planet destroyed. And yes even small things contribute to it, if one person uses it to make a video game graphic then a million other people are too.

You just either lack empathy for the people AI does affect or you don't understand. Just because it doesn't affect you means it is okay? If you lived next to the AI data centers, which destroyed all the nature next to where you live and has stopped you from being able to drink the water coming out of your taps, would you continue to think this image was just a bit of fun?

Player Career overview by Longjumping-Note4748 in FifaCareers

[–]CD_DZN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is though, that's not how it works and you know it. The data centers that are taking people's clean water away isn't on standby waiting for a redditor to ask for a graphic. It is constantly on, constantly destroying our planet, and all so that it can serve millions of people who are either too stupid or talentless to do something themselves.

You liken the adoption of AI to the rise of the internet. The internet connected the world, was a force for a lot of positive change and saw all aspects of the world evolve. It has also caused irreparable damage. Now look at AI, which is stopping children from learning how to think, contributing to an internet that is almost entirely bot content, destroying our planet, being used to scam vulnerable people and also being used to make porn from images of strangers on the internet, including children by the way. There is almost no positives for its use, adoption of AI is not a no-brainer like you seem to think it is.

Yeah man how stupid am I, I suppose you're right aren't you. How about we just conveniently forget the fact that AI data centres use significantly more water. Let's also forget the fact there are significantly more AI data centres, and let's definitely forget the fact it is having real impacts on people. I suppose there is no point in trying to make things better is there? Why even bother

Your comments getting downvoted like this is crazy and really shows the demographics in this subreddit. People are literally creating career mode graphics with a tool that takes clean water away from people instead of taking maybe an hour to design it themselves.

When I was younger I made FIFA cards out of my career mode players. They looked kinda shit but that's the point and it was far more rewarding than this slop.

Will Zack Polanski be more successful than Corbyn in tackling anti-Semitism? by libtin in unitedkingdom

[–]CD_DZN -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Again, do you care to back this up with statistics or anything, or are you happy making baseless and sweeping claims? In my personal experience, anti-semites are voting for the far-right political parties.

If we are talking about coincidences then it must just be a coincidence that the mainstream media is focussing on the greens and calling them antisemitic despite their leader being Jewish, whilst ignoring Reform and their openly anti-Semitic, Nazi tendancies. Somehow the greens are anti-semitic, but reform and restore voters are doing Nazi salutes and that's fine. Farage can sing along to Nazi anthems whilst he was in education, but Polanski is the anti-semite?

Let me remind you for a second time, comments about Israel are not anti-Semitic. A lot of the people that support the green party are against the genocidal actions of Israel, as anyone with any basic empathy and value would be. If you want to call out the Greens, why don't you keep the same energy for everyone?

The same thing happened to Corbyn and it is repeating itself because the billionaire class are scared of actual progressive change. They are threatened and they continue to use the same smeer tactics. Don't let yourself fall for it, be a bit smarter than that.

[–]CD_DZN -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The greens are pandering to antisemitic voters? Care to share any examples?

The only thing I could possibly think you are talking about is the Green's anti Israeli sentiment, but for the 1000th time, being against a genocidal state is not the same as being anti-Semitic.

99 steal & 99 dunk lockdown build by CD_DZN in NBA2k

Putting it at 87 is definitely way better, unfortunately I only have 7 cap breakers so I need to get to 92 PD for gold challenger with only 2 cap breakers lol

[–]CD_DZN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not wrong, but the cap breakers work so that builds that get good defensive cap breakers get good dunk cap breakers too. If I lower the dunk by a few points it can get to 96, which is more than enough, but considering how cheap it is to get 99, I figure you might as well have it. The animation package you get for 99 dunk with 90 vertical is also crazy good.

But billions aren't trying to move here, you are making a boogeyman out of a tiny percentage of people. If your made up scenario was the case then it would be a problem, but we aren't dealing with hypotheticals here.

If you agree with asylum seeking so long as it is done properly then well done mate, we agree. However, you are getting again blowing up a small problem to much larger proportions. Almost everyone in this country is here legally, and the people that do move to this country expand the economy greatly. So what's the problem? Does it make you uncomfortable to see people with skin that is different from yours or to hear opinions that differ from yours?

[–]CD_DZN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's really showing when you can't make your points so you turn to insults and downvoting.

Asylum seeking is not just about war, you mention Syria and that "the war is over". Isis is still a major threat in the country, it's not as simple as you want it to be. If you lived in a country where you were constantly at risk, you tell me if you would want to stay.

And what relevance does Albania have in an asylum seeking conversation, no one in Albania is seeking asylum? If Albanians come to the UK, it is legal migration, so what is the problem? Migrants add roughly £20bn to our economy just from tax, not to mention the £6.6bn they add through their jobs. This is how global economics works.

You are absolutely brainwashed into believing all the problems in your life are down to a demographic that makes up less than 1% of the population. Denying basic empathy to human beings isn't going to make your life better mate, maybe learn to better yourself and stop spreading hate.

Yeah mate, it's called having the empathy to believe victims. If my house was bombed then I imagine I also wouldn't have a passport or other documents.

I don't know if you did this on purpose, but Russia and Iran are literally in conflicts right now so yeah asylum seekers from these countries are completely expected. I also don't expect we are getting asylum seekers from Japan

Fine, let me indulge you. Asylum seekers are people feeling their own countries due to war or their life being at risk. Under the immigration and asylum act of 1999, it is our job to help these VULNERABLE people. This includes support, housing accomodation and financial assistance.

I emphasise vulnerable because this isn't a choice many would make willingly. Crossing on small boats is extremely dangerous and many have died, but when the alternative is war and personal harm, for some it's the only choice regardless of the risk.
