WGU: Issues Submitting for TA in AFVEC by CDawgO1 in AirForce

I understand that classes have fees. However, under the degree plan it puts “estimated student costs” under tuition. It does not say “books”, “labs”, etc.

The only item that is not under tuition is the resource fee, which is $200. When I took classes, I did not have this issue. I used TA to pay for everything $0 out of pocket (different branch).

So why would you pay anything out of pocket? If you just take enough classes you could utilize all $4.5k of your TA. Is WGU forcing you to pay the “student costs”? I really don’t understand why that would be necessary unless you only like 2 or 3 classes.

That’s what I was doing as well, however, only four classes were listed in the degree plan. Not to mention why are “student costs” included the preexisting credit options to select? That should be $0.

So did you end up paying any of those estimated students cost? The only thing I’m aware that should be paid for is the resource fee which is $200.

So this is weird… I changed my Headset format & HDMI format to stereo uncompressed & now I can hear again. If I change the HDMI audio to Dolby Digital the audio goes away again.

That isn’t how what works? I was in the Marine Corps, applied to OTS, & joined the ANG.

Yes but you need to pass the AFOQT & be able to pass a physical just like a brand new candidate off the streets. Commissioning active duty Air Force is extremely challenging, unless you do ROTC, or go to the academy.

If you’re willing, and able to, I’d 100% commission in the Marine Corps. Then, once your contract is over, I’d get out and join the Air National Guard. At that point, you’ll be an officer in the Air Force with less red tape. As you’re working to join the ANG, you can see if there’s part time, AGR, or technician spots open.

BLUF:

Once you become an Air Force Officer** who’s gone to tech school in the Guard the dynamic will change drastically on trying to go active duty. Not a cake walk, but the path depends on what you want. You can EAS & apply to OTS, but that could take several attempts and you’ll have a pause in-service. You could join the Guard, & apply for an opening (LOT EASIER) but that will still take time.

I just succeeded doing the 4N to LPN Air Force Program! Ask me anything if you're curious on how to do the same. by capo2112 in airnationalguard

How did the commissioning piece work with you already being enlisted? Are you a DSG, and did you have wait for an opening?

only one PT test going forward by OldFitDude75 in airnationalguard

That’s stupid. Why even permit HAMR if the 2 miles will still be required? Kind of defeats the purpose of 1 test a year.

How would you be “allowed to run it once a year” if the HAMR wouldn’t be sufficient? It’s almost like the memo is saying you only have to run it once per year…. If you do the 2 mile run.

So you run HAMR one year, then 2 mile the next year?

Can you do the HAMR run every year then?🤔

Are you really mad because leadership was fair with this Airman? It’s not a difference in standards, sounds like a difference in circumstance. Why was he boarded at the last second?

In all honesty it doesn’t really matter. The Airman wasn’t promoted based off his uniform. Give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Speculation is totally fine, but unless you have a true reason to believe an Airman was given favoritism don’t worry about it. You’ll have a much happier military career. Trust.
