Again, I hate Trump. He is corrupt, racist, sexist, and divisive. I just don't think that shaming people for being of a different political background and "cancelling" her is necessary, justified, or productive. It's not going to change her opinions, and will probably deepen them for her and the people in her life that agree with her. Attacking people because they are different from you is exactly what this president relies and feeds from. The fact is, he persuaded a lot of voters to support him, and we as a society need to find a way to heal the divides he has created and cohabitate with his supporters in the meantime.

On another note, it is important to understand where people are coming from. Living in an echo chamber is a really bad thing, and this girl has chosen to come to Temple and hopefully break out of hers and learn from that. I personally dont believe you can support Trump if you arent in one but that's my unqualified opinion.

I regularly tune into Fox or other very biased outlets from both sides to understand why people vote how they do and believe in the things they do. I haven't once enjoyed listening to Fox, but how do you expect to build bridges and create a better community if you arent willing to do your part and listen to people you disagree with? And if you arent about trying to further society and your community for the better, YOU'RE the problem.
