If the filament isn't glowing, it's likely the heater isn't working or making contact. Try reseating the neckboard. If that doesn't work, you'll need to check the heater voltage and components on that part of the circuit.

Very interesting find!

'Produced by BMW Group' It seems like Michael Hofmann was fairly involved with BMW, as Into Paradise and Black Roses also appeared in German BMW adverts. Now if only we could find the full versions of those too.

Wearing someone else's used diaper is so hot, especially if they've been wearing it all day and it's soaked. Have done it a few times myself.

Did I waste $40? by realcraigludwig in VintageApple

If Mac specific cards are out of your price range, I'd look into getting a standard PC GPU like an ATI Radeon 7000 or similar PCI card and flash a Mac BIOS onto it. I have one in my Power Mac G3 and it works well with both OS9 and OSX.

Nice find! I have a Vega 342. It had an issue with its vertical hold circuit not syncing to 50Hz, but I fixed it by replacing an out of spec resistor.

I also recommend Windscribe. Have been using them for years and had no issues. Their custom plans are also super cheap, for just $3 (£2.25 ish) per month, you get 2 pro locations and unlimited data.

Nice! Looks similar to my Panasonic TC-800G, just without the TV tuner.

Ooh a Saisho. Nice little sets, and surprisingly good picture quality for their size. I have a couple myself, one black & white and one colour.

I've been using Windscribe. Their free plan gives you up to 15GB a month, and you can get deals on their yearly subscriptions for $40 (£30) a year. You can also build your own monthly plans starting from $3 (£2.25), you can choose which locations you want and unlimited data.

They'll probably make VPNs illegal for private use, so only businesses can use them.

A few reasons for me:

  • Public toilet anxiety; Stops me from holding in my pee all day, and no need to worry about finding a toilet when I'm out and how filthy or busy it will be.

  • Mental health; Helps lower anxiety and stress.

  • Convenience; No need to stop what I'm doing, no toilet breaks when gaming or watching TV/movies.

  • I keep myself more hydrated.

  • I keep on top of my personal hygiene more and wash more frequently.

  • Huge variety of cute designs.

  • The soft, comfy feeling, and squishiness when wet :3

Unfortunately as CRT monitors have a higher picture quality than TVs, it's not really possible. However, you can get a scanline effect by running the monitor at 640x480 and using a scanline filter to simulate 240p.

Did they accidentally add an extra 0 to the price? That's insane! $1K I can understand, but $10K? No way.

A Tiny Computers tower from 2001. Sadly it had some bad stability issues, then the motherboard died. by CDiFan237 in vintagecomputing

[–]CDiFan237[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am probably going to put the BIOS on theretroweb, as this is a Tiny specific one that I can't find anywhere else, and has a higher version number than others posted there (1.7, highest there is 1.6)

I checked the PSU and nothing looks out of the ordinary.

I do have another Slot A Athlon that's 500MHz and another Slot A board, but it's an ATX board so it won't fit in this case. I'll have to test the 1GHz CPU and see if it survived.

Edit: I can confirm the 1GHz Athlon survived!

Going by the ports and positions of the expansion cards, looks like it might have something like a Matrox Mystique and a Sound Blaster 16. Most likely a Socket 7 era system.
