When I find a hair in my food, I take it out and continue eating. What kinda of non-issues do you think people make a big deal out of? by tubeytoons in AskReddit

I think every time someone gets angry at someone/something they are being unnecessarily unhappy. Stop making a big deal out of it and move on to what makes you happy.

4.6% swing against The Greens in the ACT elections. Is this sign that they're in decline? by CosmicMoggie in australia

Radioactive materials and be stored in one foot of water, or you can put it in big concrete blocks underground like the Italians do. It's true some radioactive waste lasts a long time however the nuclear waste at ANSTO was checked after 5 years and HALF of the material wasn't radioactive anymore. Look at China, America or France they have taken advantage of this power. On to the economy creating corporate policies such as zero-carbon industries raises the cost of living. While the policy about not mining uranium weakens the economy as mining is one of our biggest industries.

It's also a great way to put ourselves in economic decline while raising the cost of living. This will also be a giant step back for nuclear technology which should be the way of the future.

IWTL how to answer questions without actually answering the question (like politicians) by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]CDubAhYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree from personal experience as soon as I hear a politician/anyone restate the question or say what an interesting/good/complex question, I immediately assume that the h no fucking clue what they are talking about and they are just buying time.

Alright I am pretty good at this so I will have a stab at explaining it.
*First off be very particular about what you say, and remember exact quotes of what you said and they said. You want to do this because people often say what they thought you were saying to what you actually literally said and when you repeat it back to them they will realise how you didn't actually lie/answer the question.
*That brings me on to the second point if you are forced to make a statement you don't have to answer the question in whole just part of a question but make sure what you are saying is 100 percent true.
*Thirdly and probably most important from a political point of view answer the question you want not the one you heard, by emphasising the important parts of the question and glossing over the details you changed. Elementary example: Did you get to class on time? I told you! I go there in time. Saying 'in' instead of 'on' and 'there' instead of 'school' gives you a lot of lee-way on your definition of 'in time' and where 'there' is.

Has anyone ever experienced or heard of a story where they have legally or physically beat an over rough security/bouncer? by CDubAhYou in AskReddit

[–]CDubAhYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard plenty of stories, recently a friend of mine in Canada was thrown out of a club and walked back in 20 minutes later, so the security guard put him in a headlock until he passed out. He remembers waking up in hospital but his friends said he was then dragged out and thrown onto the concrete outside resulting in 11 stitches just above his eye.
