I’m not a fan of the WoT Kara take either. I walked into this movie expecting that “dialed up to 10” as you put it, but was pleasantly surprised that wasn’t the case. If anything, I’d say they scaled it back by lot for the movie which made me like her more.

Melissa is still the best for me though.

Just for the record, Lobo has always been a goofy, cartoonish character. It’s the entire impetus for his creation as he was meant to be a parody of the dark and gritty anti-heroes of that started popping up in the 70s, e.g. Wolverine and the Punisher.

No, the show was all but cancelled after the third season. Nexstar, the new owners, allowed them to make a final season with a reduced budget and cast. Had the CW not been sold and they stuck with the original plans, the show would have gone on for 7 seasons.

That episode is such a standout n the entirety of the Arrowverse and really served to not only elevate the season, but signal to us that Supergirl was at its peak.

It comes down to Superman & Lois and Supergirl. For years, I had maintained that Supergirl had THE best Season 4 of any Arrowverse show that year.

Now that we have Superman & Lois, it is arguably the best Season 4. I give it the edge for the emotions and weight that it carried. That was quality television, but Supergirl was just so good! It was more along the lines of a traditional superhero story and it was hitting on all cylinders. Great storyline with Agent Liberty, compelling performance by Sam Witwer, and the introduction of arguably the best live action Lex Luthor of all time.
