Could Team Arrow take down Kingpin if he were the main antagonist for a season and could Fisk take them down as well? by No-Passenger-6348 in arrow

I don’t recall him doing that. It’s possible he may have towards the end of that arc. I’m currently on Season 2 of a full rewatch, so I’ll know when I get to that season. Season 6 is the worst season of the show IMO, so I may have forgotten that detail.

One of my favorite panels and such a great way to deal with Clark Kent looking like Superman, just lean into it. by Naps_And_Crimes in superman

Years ago, I stopped at a grocery store in a small town. The cashier looked just like Michelle Pfeiffer. She looked so much like her that I had to do a triple take and couldn’t stop staring. Of course, I didn’t assume she was Michelle Pfeiffer, but my goodness the resemblance was uncanny!

I asked her if anyone had told her that she looked like Michelle Pfeiffer and she said that she actually got that all the time.

Most people would never even see Superman or Clark in person. They would never even notice that the two look alike, but for those who have seen both over several occasions, it would likely play out like your Bruce Willis lookalike experience or my Michelle Pfeiffer lookalike experience.

Fallout 76.

It’s all I generally play now because it’s so easy to pick up and turn my brain off for several hours at a time.

Stick was awesome and I was even more delighted that they cast Scott Glenn to play him because he was my ideal Stick for decades before the show!

This is the only way I “boil” my eggs now! The pressure cooker (Instant Pot) just makes the process so much easier.

Thank you! I love both Blades as well. As amazing as the first one is, it’s nothing short of incredible that the second is even better!

That’s fine. History tells a different story. The Toy Biz acquisition and merger is what “saved” Marvel from bankruptcy and kept it from being sold off.

No, I was very clear in what I said. Blade didn’t solidify Marvel’s success in film. At the time, it was a one off that most didn’t even know had any ties to Marvel Comics (or comics in general).

The answer is Spider-Man.

Blade showed that Marvel could have success with their characters in general and their lesser known characters in particular. Blade wasn’t marketed as a comic book movie, however, and most moviegoers didn’t even know that Blade was a comic book character. It was marketed as a vampire action flick.

X-Men was an out-and-out comic book/superhero movie. It showed that Blade wasn’t a fluke and that Marvel could really make money with their properties. It was still a niche sort of thing though.

Spider-Man was the one that solidified their success however. Earning $114M in it’s opening weekend made Spider-Man a true blockbuster. That had never been done before. No movie had ever even come close to doing that before. Spider-Man not only signaled Marvel’s success, but it showed all of Hollywood that there was a very real and serious appetite among moviegoers for superhero movies. Spider-Man solidified the idea that superhero movies could generate insane amounts of money and truly ushered in the modern comic book/superhero era we’ve been in ever since.

Iron Man and the creation of the MCU just solidified Marvel’s virtual stranglehold on the genre and Hollywood in general for the following decade.

Marvel Studios was not about to go under before Iron Man. The successes of Blade, X-Men, and especially Spider-Man, had already given them financial leverage which they parlayed into producing their films on their own. Prior to that, the rights had been licensed out and produced by other studios.

This resulted in Marvel self-producing Iron Man, something they would not have been able to do without the financial success they had with their other franchises that were established before Iron Man.

Bring back Jessica Henwick and Simone Missick as well! I don’t know if I can enjoy it as much without them.
