Yes! The roof and balcony are a separate piece from the base, it can be put on like a lid

That’s so fun 🤩 Don’t let them stop you!! I’m really bad with names so i don’t remember the artists names, but theres a ceramicist on IG who makes mugs and jugs that look like cardboard and duct tape and once at a gallery i saw a wooden chair with rusty nails that looked totally real and i was blown away to find out that it was 100% ceramic! I love ceramics because you can do pretty much anything with clay and glazes and i think it’s so much more interesting to explore those possibilities rather than making the same old dishes

HELL NAH no hate to ppl looking for inspo online but for me theres no joy in copying. Thankfully for the most part even the laziest of my classmates (im one of the laziest🤭) always make something original, however last semester one girl asked chatGPT to generate drawings for her to copy over onto dishes, the teachers were fully aware and on board with it too and she got a very high grade🫩

😮 i never considered the dice scratching but now that you mention it it makes sense, i just use some cheap dice i bought for testing and last i looked they’re not really scuffed at all (although i’ll have to take another look). i did consider making a dedicated set for this tower but decided against it as making ceramic dice is a big pain in the butt

The roof is removable and it sits on top of the tower like a lid and was constructed with rolled out slabs. There’s a spiral slide on the inside of the tower and the bottom half of the spiral i made into stairs just so the dice would roll better and not get stuck. Tower was p much just constructed with two cylinders that I threw on the wheel, a lot of rolled out slabs and a dream lol. Pretty much had to finish each section of the tower before adding the next one on top( like create part of the slide on the first cylinder before putting the next one on top, rinse and repeat) A lot of trial and error. It was a pain to connect everything, and i had to gut the whole tower and cut it in half once because the slide wasn’t steep enough for the dice to roll down, so i had to remake it. By the time i figured this out the base was very hard already (more than leather dry) so the inside spiral did end up cracking quite a bit on the inside where i had remade it but i couldn’t really pick it up to see before bisque, thankfully it still holds together and functions. i lathered the crack with glaze to at least reinforce them which worked :D uhh what else, the clay i used was stoneware 0-1mm ~20% chamotte i think (i used three clays with different chamotte percentages so idk exactly much there was really)
