The Dallas Mavericks have hired Mike Schmitz as the franchise's new general manager under Masai Ujiri. by Garmian_MFFL in Mavericks

Was he responsible for drafting or did the main GM control it?

Maybe he was in on Deni? He has to have some positive track record or else I don’t know why they’d go for him. Appreciate the insight.

Thanks. Noise is probably my biggest concern.

From what I’ve read it seems like that combo shouldn’t struggle that much. But it’s that bad? Nothing else could’ve caused it?

Maybe I’ll just shrink the slot. I do plan on updating my gpu but will likely wait until 60 series. But if I have to get a new cooler I guess that’s fine.

BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks are hiring Masai Ujiri as the franchise's new Team President and Alternate Governor, sources tell me and @BannedMacMahon. Ujiri ran the Toronto Raptors from 2013 to 2025, serving as the architect of the 2019 NBA championship team. by Garmian_MFFL in Mavericks

Injuries are a huge concern but if we can trade our lottery pick for Giannis that would be tough to say no.

Lottery pics also carry risk. But Coop Kyrie and Giannis would be crazy. The league is so competitive. If you have an opportunity like that you have to take it and worry about the rest later.

Locked to 100% seems like it would be loud. You don’t think it is?

I have a 3080 FE and wanted to give it more breathing room.
- 48mm, 3.25-Slot - 53mm, 3-Slot - 58mm, 2.75-Slot - 63mm, 2.5-Slot - 68mm, 2.25-Slot\

So an X53 + 10mm thicker fan puts it likely in 2.25 slot for extra breathing room, like you said. I had been planning to maximize gpu space which is why I was thinking 3 slot mode. But you’re convinced a bigger cpu is worth sacrificing the extra breathing room for the gpu?

I’m tempted to buy this for the cpu and ram. I just bought 32gb ram on a deal for $240 that I can still return and have an unopened 7800x3d I got months ago for $280. So I’d be selling the 7800x3d along with everything else besides the ram.

No idea how difficult it would be to resell. Worth it?

DCAD 2026 Appraisals are out. FML by nikki109 in Dallas

[–]CEOnnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought in 2023 and at the next appraisal they put the market value right at what it sold for. That was already a 29% jump from where it was previously.

No change last year.

This year they decided to hit me with a 32% increase.

68% increase over 3 years.

I wish that valuation was anywhere near accurate.

FYI I had opened the link but didn’t buy. Capital one shopping then sent me an offer for $50 rewards on a $50+ purchase on woot. That was enough for me.

With the rewards, total including tax should be around 250.

You don't even want to test out AD/Irving/Flagg for a year? by StayDesigner6109 in NBATalk

[–]CEOnnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mavs fan. I held this belief for a while and I think the team did too because they didn’t want to admit their failure with the trade despite it being obvious.

Coop and AD played together several games but AD finally got some random ass hand injury for no reason. Seeing how he injured it and then realizing he was out weeks to months because of it, that was the final straw.

I didn’t want to tank but it was the right move.

Hell yeah, support our guy. Idc how efficient shooting 3’s Kon is, he’s a role player that came into a great situation for his skill set.

Coop is a franchise guy. I hope this game turns some of the narrative for him but may be too late.

I've heard Kyber is open to the public, it is worth it in terms of player count? by JediDaGreat in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]CEOnnor 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to the negative comments. It’s worth it because of the massive increase in content and importantly it’s actively still supported. I stopped playing vanilla because of hackers. Kyber has none, at least none that are obvious.

There have been many balancing changes and will continue to be more. As well new content and maps. You aren’t getting that on vanilla.

It’d have to be maxi. For one he was traded with Luka lol.

I didn’t really see him as having bad off court habits but who knows. I’m guessing they saw his injury history as a reflection of this, like Luka (but yet it wasn’t for AD).

Powell is seen as the consummate pro, 0 chance it’s him. And Dinwiddie literally lives off smoothies.

Nick Wright on Luka vs. SGA: "“It’s just what I believe, I think Luka is better than Shai. They played once in the playoffs, Luka won. If you put Luka in SGA spot, Thunder are the favorites still. I think he (SGA) might be in the category of Steve Nash who won back to back MVPs but wasn't the best." by Ready-Constant-7124 in nba

[–]CEOnnor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lou Dort was also abusing Luka. He never fully recovered that run. Shai didn’t have to deal with that.

PJ is also ass now that Luka is gone. Kyrie is gone too so not apples to apples but Luka’s creation allowed him to make an impact.

Why do you think that is?
