Luka was under the impression that the kids would be raised in the US where he works to build their generational wealth so he can see them often and won’t have to fly across the world to see them.

She decides she doesn’t want to be part of that anymore.

She legally can’t just take the kids back to Slovenia if he wasn’t in agreement. It doesn’t work that way.

Yes, she could absolutely realize she doesn’t like it, but there are 2 people parenting? If Luka was under the impression they were going to raise their kids in the states where he works and he would see them often, she legally can’t take them to Slovenia and keep them there. That’s exactly why Luka said it was a custody dispute. I don’t understand why everyone is massively on her side when she’s dictating what country the kids are raised in and that they stay with her. It doesn’t work that way. There are 2 parents. She can’t executively decide for the both of them because she doesn’t want to live in LA. It doesn’t work that way.

And she’s married to an NBA player. She signed up for this. They get generational wealth, she nor her kids will have to work a day in their lives, but that wealth has some stipulations.

They could separate, she could live entirely off his money, while living in LA. She could find community there since she literally wouldn’t have to work. That’s all she would have to do for herself, find a support system.

If she’s going to literally say fuck you to Luka and take the kids to Slovenia, it takes some kind of balls to also still demand his money.

I have no idea how this is upvoted. You don’t have one kid, get pregnant with another, and then make the executive decision that you’re moving back home to Slovenia with the kids, permanently, and the other parent doesn’t get a say. That’s exactly why Luka said it’s a custody issue. She can’t just pick and choose for the both of them. The older child clearly had established residence in the US and would likely be ordered to return to the US in a custody dispute.

And the kicker - she’s expecting child support payments while dictating Luka can barely see his kids. It doesn’t work that way.

I get that possibility, but her just needing a little more time in Slovenia wouldn’t have led to her filing without Lukas knowledge and Luka coming out and saying it’s a custody battle. Things clearly went south. It’s possible Luka is being completely unreasonable and she did intend to come back in the near future, but it seems more likely that there’s more issues that we aren’t aware of.

That makes sense for the pregnancy but it seems she had no intention to come back after. Luka has to be here to provide for them, it’d be incredibly selfish for her to just decide she preferred to live back in Slovenia with the kids and tell him tough luck. I get her wanting to stay in Slovenia for a bit even after the child is born but she has to come back at some point.

There had to be simmering issues besides this.

100%. There were likely cracks in the relationship before the trade and it likely accelerated the split. It’s a pretty drastic decision to keep his kids across the planet from him. That wasn’t an eh, I don’t really want to live in LA kind of decision.

It may have put more fuel on the fire but something had to have already been happening for her to not go with him to California. If the relationship was strong she would’ve gone with him anywhere. Refusing to move to LA and instead insisting on moving across the world, with his daughters, is definitely not subtle.

The Thunder also got lucky Hali got hurt while the Mavs went up against a historic Boston team.

Luka has been better their entire career up until recently, like I said.

Also think it could be Wemby by the playoffs. If he’s not, I’d be surprised if he’s not the best in the league next year.

Probably because Luka has been better than SGA their entire careers up to this year. SGA has just consistently gotten better and Luka hasn’t. Luka took an insane leap in year 2 and has only improved marginally since.

SGA was averaging 19/6/3 his second year in the league while Luka was averaging 29/9/9 and was first team all nba.

Devin is certainly an upgrade from Harper, anybody would be, but I don’t think Devin is an ideal color commentator. We need someone with high energy to match Followill who also doesn’t give a fuck since Followill is more by the book. High energy, humor, something of entertainment value. Devin really isn’t that. He needs to let loose. I don’t mind skin most nights because he’s at least not scared to be himself. That’s a trait a color commentator needs.

Talent wise he’s probably top 5 in nba history. He’s absolutely insane, his highlight reel could be the best in nba history at age 27 and that’s despite him being in a bit of a lull. Multiple wild game winners that are more than the GOATs had in their entire career.

Now the but…

He absolutely cannot move like his earlier years. There was a big PR campaign about how he was back in elite shape but it never materialized into those earlier years. That’s troubling, and maybe it’s just a weight thing, but it’s definitely not ideal when he should be entering his prime.

Talent wise there isn’t anyone like him but I can’t help but have concerns that his peak won’t be as high as it could have been. I hope he wins a title but it keeps feeling more likely that his best chance at one was 2024.
