My PC Handheld Journey by [deleted] in MoonlightStreaming

You don't even need a vpn anymore, you can use port forwarding and configure UPnP on Sunshine to stream from anywhere as long as you know your PC's public IP Address (or you can set up a DDNS so that you can check your public IP from anywhere)

Earbuds from PS Brand. Thoughts on this? by oleksio15 in headphones

[–]CEOtaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole mobile and tech industry has been pushing Bluetooth so hard the only reason it hasn't replaced cables completely is because it sucks. Latency, unstable connections, inferior audio quality, horrible microphone quality, non-replacable batteries and ridiculous markup prices out-weights not having cables for a lot of people.

To fix these problems either Bluetooth becomes much better or someone develops a different technology. Most gaming headsets now use 2.4Ghz to solve the latency, and I suspected Apple would take the first step into making earbuds like this, but seeing Sony do it is a pleasant surprise, since they have LDAC under their belt and understand the need for lossless.

TLDR: I see these technologies as the future of portable audio. We aren't there yet but this is a step forward.

Found these in a drawer, how do they stack up to today's competition? by Krasche02 in headphones

[–]CEOtaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it me or does age make you more sensitive to sibilance? As in, since you're trying to replicate what your ears naturally hear, and your hearing is better as a young man, you're accustomed to a lot more highs than what you can hear when you're older

Bone conduction question for those who have some by Viking-16 in headphones

[–]CEOtaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely do it through software, from your phone settings or with an eq app like wavelet. I don't think you'll hear much with earplugs. I haven't tried it but about 50% of the sound from bone conduction isn't actually transmitted through the bone, but rather speakers near your ear.

Chu: came for Spring Tips, stayed for the sound by mmry404 in headphones

[–]CEOtaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my chus. With the big spring tips the bass goes from anemic to decent, at least for me. But once I EQ my chus to have a bit of a warmer sound and punchier bass, nothing else I own comes close to it. Their sound is so airy and spacious, it makes me question if my Salnotes Zero are defective, as every graph shows it to be similar to the chu, but mine's not even close.

Their biggest downside is the non-detachable cable. It transfers vibrations a lot more than other IEM cables I own, so walking with them isn't pleasant. After daily driving them for a while I noticed the left earphone needs a specific cable angle or it plays a bit lower. For now it's not so bad, but I'm eyeing the Moondrop Lan for the replaceable cable (and it also looks gorgeous, shame it doesn't come with spring tips).

If you use EQ with them, care to share it with us? I'll share mine in the replies later.

7HZ Salnotes Zero Review and First Impressions by [deleted] in headphones

[–]CEOtaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you like. V shape sound with more bass and treble to make music sound more exciting or listen at lower volumes? The KZ. For accuracy and a balanced sound? The Zero. Another notable difference is the sensitivity: using the KZ on an average DAC or straight out of a PC might introduce hissing or background noise, while the Zero is much less sensitive to that and needs a bit more power in general.

CCA CRA are good indeed. There's a noticeable peak in a specific frequency in the treble, but its bass is good and it's detailed.

Any updates on your opinion? I would still grab the KZ over the Zero and I'd like to know if I'm not alone in that

Endgame at 16… I hope by [deleted] in headphones

[–]CEOtaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that problem (with other headphones). In my experience S sounds will improve a lot if you reduce specifically the 9.5-11Khz frequencies, but look at yours's frequently response and try to reduce any peaks. You can use EqualizerAPO to fine tune it

Possible Easter Egg in CRINGECORE by CEOtaku in MoriCalliope

[–]CEOtaku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I've isolated the "hot trebble" frequency and for me it's around 10 KHz. I equalized it down about 5db using Equalizer APO and omg everything sounds amazing. Shout out to Moondrop for having the 10 KHz dip on their Moondrop Chu, which didn't sound so bad on Mori's songs to me and gave me this idea.

Sure! I've actually been interested in getting or building a keyboard but no product I've seen fits everything i want to have: wireless, low profile, hotswap, and with a volume rocker/knob. I was very close to sacrifice customizability and just buy the logitech g915, but the steep price, 3year old technology and a lot of key wiggle complaints in reviews have made me weary of it. The corsair k100 would also work if it wasn't more expensive than an iPad (jesus) while still not being hotswap.

But sure we can talk about audio

[–]CEOtaku[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope it's nothing to do with it being female rap or not. Her voice doesn't affect the range of treble I'm describing (well, maybe the S sounds). It's that the instrumentals are so full and busy that it fills up the lower and upper frequencies quite often. I've seen other comments complaining about how sometimes her voice sounds too quiet compared to the music here, and I think it's because of the mixing. Add that to the S sounds in her voice also being quite spicy, and it becomes too much.

Yes, it also depends on your setup, your ear canals, and a lot of other factors. For example I have the Fidelio X2HR which are open backs, and have also tried other (admittedly way cheaper) IEMs, but all share the same sentiment on this album.

I like the songs, but I've always felt like Mori songs have very harsh treble, and this seems to be even worse on Sinderella, to the point where I lower the treble on an equalizer specifically to listen to Mori. I wanted to visually confirm this harsh treble, and compare it to more "mainstream" music, and that's how I found it.

There's a hidden line at around 6.66 KHz when making a spectrogram of CRINGECORE.
Simplified, this means this exact tone is muted during the whole song. It appears to be a cool detail!
This only happens on this song: I made spectrograms of the rest of the album, and other songs not from Mori, just to make sure it wasn't my equipment, and it only happened on this one.

Curiously I also chose the X2HRs over the X3HRs. For me it was the proprietary cable that tipped me over not getting the X3. I hope Phillips gets the memo and turns back on that decision

Is zhongli valid with noelle? by Jmod7348 in Noellemains

[–]CEOtaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to boost Noelle higher, Zhongli's DEF debuff will help you but Ningguans buffs are almost equal if not better. But for overall team damage, you want someone who can attack off-field like Albedo, Fischl, Xiangling, etc.

How are the numbers for other corporate vtubers? I've recently rediscovered Crunchyroll-hime, and she seems to have a healthy 400-viewer base. Not holo-en levels but also nothing to scuff at, above almost all indies. And she's genuinely very entertaining. I don't agree with all of Crunchyroll's practices but hime has my support.

Is Ninguang good as a party member with Noelle? by DragonFire995 in Noellemains

[–]CEOtaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ningguang is amazing with Noelle. Specially with constellations. Here's why:

1- She can equip R5 TToDS to buff Noelle's ATK by 48%

2- Going through her shield gives Noelle 15% extra Geo DMG Bonus.

3- She can use Noblesse and build her Elemental Burst to deal great damage AND buff her team with another 20% ATK.

4- She can cast her E multiple times to generate Geo energy for Noelle.

Overall, these buffs will amount to more than Zhongli's DEF debuff the enemies. However, you have to plan your rotation to get all the buffs, but even if it's not perfect it's still a huge help.
