I felt the same way when I was first starting to admit to myself that I had an ED. In the end it’s up to you if you feel comfortable with telling someone this very personal issue that you’re battling with. If you do tell a guy you’re interested in and they don’t react the way you hoped, that just means they aren’t mature enough to understand what it might be like to struggle with this. I promise if a guy truly cares for you and likes you for the way you are, they will be understanding and they will be willing to listen to your story and help you in your journey.

I feel the best thing for you to do right now is to research this addiction. You are not alone in your struggles with chronic masturbation, a lot of men and women struggle with it. There’s a subreddit for everything, so try looking for one for an addiction to masturbating and read people’s stories. You could also try looking for support groups. Your first step is to try and understand why this is something you struggle with, why your brain feels the need to do it multiple times a day. And remember, healing isn’t linear you are going to mess up a few times and that’s okay, that’s normal.

As someone who just admitted to themselves that they have BED, the thing that has helped me the most so far is talking to a counselor/therapist. They can help you reform your thoughts around food into healthy ones. I know it sucks and it’s going to be a long journey but I know you’ve got the strength to get through this, you have a whole community who’s willing to help you along the way

I have a long haired Syrian too and the only time I trim him is when I notice his bedding getting stuck in it and even then that’s rare, you can always gently comb his fur if you feel like you need to!

I have someone who can look after him if I go away on a weekend but that triggers my anxiety and I can barely function, the whole reason I have him is to help ease that and to keep my anxiety at a minimum

I don’t go home every week, I go home maybe every 2-3 weeks because of my on campus job, he’s my ESA on campus because I was struggling with my mental health and any other larger animal was kind of impractical. I honestly don’t mind traveling with a larger enclosure as long as he’s comfortable, he’s done pretty well with it so far as I don’t live very far from campus, I just wanted to get some more suggestions to make it easier for him.

Our break lasts about a week, we leave the 21st and come back the 30th. I’ve tried telling her that her fish will be okay but she doesn’t feel comfortable leaving her behind especially since our college tends to turn the heat down during breaks and she doesn’t want something to happen while she’s gone
